Looking to add in an ultragauge I have seen them in a few of my buddies trucks and they love the features in being able to seem temp gauges. Wondering what all else is out there and who has tried them. Anything available on Amazon by chance? Just seeing what is out there.

Scangauge II or Ultragauge are both good. I have the Ultragauge and love it.

I have seen the ultra gauge in action and IMO its a sweet setup and I like the bigger screen option. I saw a thread on here for mounting points a spot above the rearview mirror which I think is pretty awesome. Where do you have your ultragauge mounted if you don't mind me asking.

I have mine mounted in the very upper left corner of the windshield. I'm a tall guy and my only complaint is that the supplied ball mount doesn't allow it to angle the UG enough (it's angled too far down)--something I plan to fix eventually.

Other than that, I love it. I have the wires going down behind the plastic panels on the A-pilar to the OBD II port. I also use an OBD II splitter so that the UG can be plugged in and still have access to my OBD II port at all times.

Does ultra gauge not have trans temp capability? I don’t see it listed on the list of available gauges but I might be missing it.

I know scan gauge does. I had a II with the x gauge features and it had a massive library of gauges. Got rid of it when I got a sct for my powerstroke.

I can confirm that the MX does. I have both trans temp and torque converter temp set to display on mine.

This came in handy when a friend had her check engine light come up. We plugged this in to pull up the engine codes and figured out the problem. This is how mine is mounted.

I really like my Ultragauge, but would go for the Ultragauge MX if I got one again to have the trans temp as an option. I stuck it to a piece of velcro on my dash mat.

    More than I can afford
Have had an Ultragauge in my truck for a few years.
Handy for tracking milage, diagnosing issues and generally nerding out on what my truck is up to.

Only things I dislike about it are the location of the buttons and the non detachable cable, it is not the easiest thing to mount.

Mine is on a magnetic cell phone mount screwed to one of the switch blanks. I hate drilling holes in my dash.

I have the Ultra..I just ran the wire up the outside of the steering column and Velcro holds it on top of the column, doesn't block the turn signals or anything else

Bought the Scangauge specifically for transmission temperatures.

Quick Code reading is nice as well.

Love my ultragauge!! Biggest reason I bought one was to monitor transmission temps while towing. You learn quite a bit about temps under different driving conditions:
