Darn. I was hoping my ecu id 04A70 would be supported. I’ve been looking forward to this since I got my supercharger 2 years ago and was ready to order on day 1. I’m never touching techstream again though. My bootleg copy was sketchy and took me days to get working last time.

Not worth it for me unless a tune for my ecu becomes available later. I understand why it’s not supported though.

I know, I was hoping I wouldn't have to touch Teachstream. Especially, since I have an aftermarket tune and the ECU was updated last year when the tune was installed. :(

as said - yes - I am a YotaWerx SC tester/user and 04B04 (which is the most up-to-date ecu version for the '16 and '17 AT). I did run the latest Magnuson SC tune - for a half day to compare - YotaWerx SC tune is head and shoulders above the lack-luster tune you will receive with your Magnuson SC purchase.

alternative - find a TW TS user near you and do the update - then get the YotaWerx SC Tune for your ecu. Pretty sure there are many TW members near you that can assist with the ecu update. And you will then have the option of getting the updated version of the Maggy Tune for your updated ecu - which will be........ disappointing. FWIW - I agree that TS is a royal PIA and scary compared to VFTuner.

Agree, I'm sure that most TIS users would help

The tune is just a tune.

Think of the ecu version as the architecture, going from an old house built in the 40's to something modern.

What is inside is the tune.

i think what @mZiggy meant is that because my ecu was updated last year I should be in the latest version. However, that’s not the case and I still have to update.

There are different revisions based on model years. It’s not just 1 ecu for all Tacomas, there’s like 10 different ones depending on model year (16-17,18,19,20,21-22) and different ones depending on if it’s an automatic or manual. Then there’s been 0-4 updates PER model year

    tldr.. there’s a lot

Does anybody near Wichita Falls TX have TS on here. I’m willing to pay some bucks for an ECU update so I don’t have mess the TS again.

also I confirmed that my copy of Orange Virus Tuning “Toyota flash tool” from magnuson can open and flash .vft files. So I should be good even though it’s not technically VFtuner since my SC kit is older than VFtuner.

The Maggy tune files are locked. Please report back to them so they will address it. There are many that are not happy with their tune. And we don’t have a FI truck to test on.

Do you just need a TSB update to get onto 04C21? And then flash the updated Maggy tune? If so, see the ECU TSB update thread.

@GoldenBrew was not asking you to create a tune for @Truky! , He was asking if you're able to assist him in ECU update, so that he can then flash the YotaWerx SC tune.

He does not feel comfortable doing it himself with the tools and assistance provided.

Today my buddy @NomadicCypress flashed me...And he flashed me good... I got the PREM 3.0.5 N/A AD Tune. HOLY SHIT boys and girls you need this!!! The low end torque @mZiggy got out of this engine is incredible!!! The driveability is fantastic! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Special thanks to @tonered for turning me on Yotawerx.
