Just wanted to know if anybody has taken off their Front Chin Spoiler and no longer want it.

I'm in need of one...I know their not liked by most,I find it helps with gas mileage, about 2 mpg more with it(drive around 90 miles a day ).and don't think it looks bad when installed.

    Oh look, another mod....
It does not help or hurt gas mileage at all. It's a worthless piece of plastic.

Hopefully you'll get one for free. There are other Taco drivers giving them away rather than dumping it.

How did you “find it helps with gas milage, about 2 mpg more” if you don’t have one to compare with or without it? I would be very surprised if that plastic chin strap improved mpgs by even .2, let alone 2 (and the EPA fuel rating on the window stickers would agree).

As for MPG, check your tire PSI and don't carry unneeded weight if you don't have to.

I had one on my 2017 sport. Took it off at 20K miles. Ran it another 60K miles. It gave me zero difference. Maybe in a wind tunnel, not in real life

I took mine off and put it back on. It does help with mileage. In my case 1 mpg. Mostly highway driving with winds. My experience!!! Your case might be diff.

It's not designed to fit on the Off Road models as l think it interferes with the skidplate. You would probably have to modify it to fit which would negate any improvement anyway. Try adjusting your driving style as that will make a much larger gain than any silly spoiler.

The spoiler is good for a bit over 1 mpg if at highway speeds over 55 mph all the time from what i've found. I put mine back on. I prefer it on for less wind noise....my truck runs quieter with it on when over 40 mph.

Sure if you have a lift with big ass tires, the spoiler won't do much good. It does work on a bone stock truck.

I put one on my OR but had to take off the tow hook. It does reduce turbulence under the truck and that will impact MPG and handling for the better, if only sightly.

Those that may be/ are insecure with their Tacomanhood will take it off because of what they deem others may think and most of them are all hat and no horse so to speak .To join that group you have to add a lift and larger tires to get even less mpg's to be a real Tacomaman for driving at the mall .
To put one on an off road model ,the only mod you will have to make is with a side cutters to cut out a slot for the tow hook and is easy to do in a few minutes . Aerodynamics are in play if at higher speeds and it will yeild about 1/2 to 1 mpg over not having it if you drive alot of freeway driving . Be that guy and save some money ! Be happy and secure in not giving a damn what others think.

Some of those E rated 265/75 16 tires are really heavy vs the stock oem tires. If thats the case, you probably won't see much improvement.

Imo, why would toyota go through all the trouble making these spoilers, only for owners that think they know more than the engineer's to dispose of them? Commonsense would tell you they must do something good.
