Tried Angel’s Envy at the bar tonight, it was terrible! So glad I didn’t buy a bottle.

This may be the first time I disagree with you on here my dude. I enjoy some Angel’s Envy from time to time. My only beef is the price. Can’t find the bourbon for less than $55, rye is $100. Steep.

I was super disappointed. Had always heard such good things.

Can get for $42 locally, probably would’ve been my next acquisition.

Had a little get together for my birthday last night, not bad gifts for a new 50 year old.

I must not be as picky as many, I have never really had what I would call a bad bourbon. For sure there have been some I didn't care for but by and large what I enjoy seems to be tied more to who I am with and the circumstances than some abstract quality. I dont have to love it, just enjoy the company I am with. To me, just about everything else is trying to blow smoke up my own or somebody else ass.

So I was looking into that Pinhook Vertical mentioned a few posts back and:

    https://www.pinhookbourbon.com/products/bourbon-war-vertical-6-year

"We're going to sell you the same bottle of MGP-sourced whiskey 9 times" is how I read this.

So in light of that and the Dalmore rich jackoff collection, what are some other goofy marketing gimmicks they're going to try and spring on us in the next 20 years?

    I'll start:

    - Woodford Hextuple Oaked.
    - Mellow Corn Wheated.
    - Oak Cask inside Maple Cask inside a pressure vessel (Old TurDuckEn).
    - Wooden Bottles (at least one brand will have a glass cork).

    Now you guys go.

I'm in the "drink what you like" camp. I ain't got time to be chasing elitism.

The Game Of Thrones Scotches. These came out when the series was on. They were ridiculously overpriced. Not long after they weren't really selling, so prices came down.

For ~$50/bottle/year, I think it’s pretty cool to try something that’s essentially the same juice, just aged differently.
