1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
My initial reaction when installing the supercharger last year was that it felt like a V8, but then that quickly wore off when the tune really started to feel lackluster. Now, THIS tune feels great. I like that I have full use of 1st gear right off the gate. With the Maggy tune, when pulling my trailer with either my race truck or 4runner on it it was a gamble if I would stall because they don't give you full use of first gear, which is wild and seems dangerous. I obviously just installed the YotaWerx tune this morning so I haven't towed with it yet, but the way it feels I can tell it's going to be so much better trying to take off from a stop while pulling ~5K lbs. (Next thing is to do the accumulator delete mod, because I think that contributes to my numb clutch feeling when pulling heavyweight as well...)

Just first gear alone feels amazing. But I will say this, and I'm not criticizing, more like asking... but is there a point in the pedal travel where more pedal effectively does nothing? I genuinely like the way that it feels, but noticed if I roll into the throttle at some point more throttle doesn't do much else. Like say 60% - 100% throttle feels the same. This is just from one test drive down some back roads, again not complaining or criticizing, just curious. I really like that you get more throttle early on, and it feels like you get peak power before you even get the throttle to the floor.

Dammit I missed out on this.
Just saw this thread I had no idea there was a flash sale for the tune only yesterday:(
At least I’m happy to hear positive results with the tune, need to get on it

I know what you mean and I think there are two things that contribute to this. First is the throttle response and ATRA. Marc has been working with the testers to try and dial it in so the truck isn’t twitchy. You should have felt the original ATRA settings lol… It’s been softened quite a bit from that point and a lot of us feel that the partial throttle response is great right where it is. Coming from the Magnuson tune it will feel like a night and day difference.

Second is how the power is delivered. If you check out the dyno posted earlier by @SK808 you will see that you have maximum torque immediately down low. So you combine that with the throttle sensitivity and yeah it feels like giving it more gas doesn’t necessarily result in a ton more power. Partial throttle feels like my Jeep SRT Hemi with 475 HP but obviously full throttle doesn’t give me 475 HP if that makes sense.

Are you on the 87mm? That’s a hoot to drive on the Yotawerx tune.

That makes a lot of sense actually. I really do like the way it feels and no I've still got the 90mm for now.

@mZiggy just curious, what's the rpm limiter set at for the MT tune?

6600 rpm. Should've included that in the tune guide.

That said, Toyota uses a fuel cut limiter, which doesn't function like a traditional limiter. It'll begin to lean you out a bit approximately 100-150rpm prior to whatever fuel cut limiter gets set to.

Regarding throttle response for the MT, the Stryker+ version is much more aggressive and some people may like it, but it should probably be for those drivers that want that particular kind of aggressive response or have heavy trucks, the non-"+" version is personally what I'd recommend for most people.

@Formidable 's explanation is pretty much spot on.

Personally I find the MT non + version even a little more then I like, but I'll get used to it :D

Yeah I don't see many people ever needing Stryker+ as far as the MT is concerned. There's bound to be someone though, so it's available.

I'm curious to the power difference between the 90mm, and 87mm pulleys...any thoughts?

It’s a very noticeable difference. Roughly 15 WTQ/WHP. I would guess the exact same dyno posted earlier will be around 320 WHP with the 87mm. Attached below is a dyno difference shown with the 90mm vs 87mm pulleys in the very early stages of Yotawerx tune development. The tune has come a long way since then.

Loaded up the 90mm Stryker+ AT Tune yesterday, I've got 5.29s, 35s, Topper, bumpers, etc. my truck is a landwhale to say the least. It now scoots, there's no dead spots, no random RPM hangs coming off throttle, stays in gear how it should, the drivability is leaps and bounds over where it once was.

That being said, there may be someone who comes across a similar issue I had coming this far with the truck. Fortunately, like many of you I installed the Magnuson myself and had a laptop set aside for tuning purposes (prior to this I was an original OV Tune Dongle User) anyway, since I've only flashed the truck a handful of times in its lifetime I find myself always updating to the newest version of OV/VF at any given time. During this latest iteration of updates I found that as a primarily "Magnuson VF Tuner" my old Tactrix device provided with the Super Charger had not been properly registered to my account via VF Tuner (in recent times upon first use a new registration occurs linking hardware/software). Fortunately, Matt was quite active this past weekend through his Zendesk help ticketing and was able/willing to register my Tactrix to my "Magnuson Account" using the original master key provided with the SC and serial number of the Tactrix device. In the event some of you come across a similar error saying device not registered (unlikely since many of you following the thread stay active on updates) I hope this can be a small foot note in assisting some of those future would be self-proclaimed-tuners.

It sounds like you have two vF Tactrix adapters? If so, due to the change in Licensing, only one can be used with your account. So, there is that to consider also.

As you said, very likely the culprit is the existence of two Tactrix adapters related to my account in the past and being able to only have one registered going forward. I found some new users to VF Tuner in other threads were pulling the same registration error as recently as this past weekend and had needed to submit a help ticket to resolve as well. Just wanted to notate where I could in the event someone else has a similar registration issue when they hop on once in a blue moon to update their Magnuson. Though I feel like I'm a special case having multiple.

You are right that this same error is coming up. Unfortunately, I have not heard of the exact cause and if there is something that can be done to prevent it.

Another question for you @mZiggy. What is the torque reduction scheme with a cold engine. It's defiantly different than the Magnuson tune. Torque is limited more with a start and go while cold, but after a mile or so it starts to wake up much faster.

The torque limiter works by measuring the happy factor it senses from your butt! Cold butt not so happy. Warm and warming butt happy = more torque. :anonymous:
