Just noticed that it looses mpg if you are running 70mph above. And the gear hunting during high speed starts to annoy me.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
Have you had an ECU update? It greatly reduces gear hunting and makes shifting smoother.

There is a fix for this issue, but the problem would be getting car companies and people to do it.

Each car should have a lower limit of 75% charge, when over 75% the car would back feed electricity into the grid during peak times. This would allow people to get at least 75%, but also act as a giant battery backup system for the whole grid. If there is not much demand, then cars over 75% would charge as normal, but if everyone turns on their AC and starts draining the grid, all those cars over 75% that are plugged in would discharge to help support the rest of the system (until they get to 75% charge, or whatever the end user decided they want to set).

I feel this could work since power consumption is generally lower at night when most people would be charging their cars, then when they go to work or are home during the day, those cars could help the overwhelmed grid.

We would need a massive system upgrade just to do this, but it could be rolled out with each EV sale. This system would also not be needed in all areas.

Made a big honking mess in the garage. Only took a roll of shop towels and a good mopping with Dawn soap to clean it up. Apparently hot oil will be so happy to drain that it will hit your collection pan and fountain itself right back out again. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

At least the diff and the lawnmower were better behaved.

Anyways, I gots a question to ask. How easy would it be to reach a fujimoto valve through the aluminum skid plate? Super easy or would I have to drop the skid?

Switching to the valve suddenly gives me an excuse to :spending:. I'm not sure I like how unprotected it is at the moment.

Same thing happened when I changed my oil the first time. I have a drain valve to put on after the next change. Ya it came out like it was under pressure and splattered everywhere.

IMO, I would not install that type of valve without having a skid plate to protect it.

Installed Sumo Springs in the back this morning. Super easy job, took about an hour with me rotating the tires and inspecting the brakes. A quick test drive, and I barely notice they’re back there with an unloaded bed.
I will probably get some for the front one of these days.

I keep the oil fill cap on and prop the oil catch pan up. Comes out with less vengeance

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
I like this set up. Are the storage areas under the (previously) backseats still usable? When you're off-roading and bouncing around, how does the cooler handle it?

I finally got around to moving the CV boots over and I would recommend anyone with a lift do the same you can see the shiny spot from the flutes touching. I bought a cv boot clamp cutting tool which was a bit pricy (which made life a lot easier) but not as expensive as new axles lol!6FA6CFF3-E39B-4587-BECF-4CCFDA075E7F.jpg

I'm driving from PA next week to see my son in Ft. Benning. Driving 15 hours straight through. I would love to know how long that would take with an EV with all the long stops to charge. Might be better off in a horse and carriage.

Didn’t take too much cursing, started with the passenger (easy-side) would recommend, driver went faster as I knew what I was doing by time I got there.

Picked up my 285/75r16 BFG KO2’s to replace my strangely unworn duratracs with 63k on them….and also bought Nitro Off-road UCA’s, which will hopefully compliment the 6112/5160 setup I have. I’m really hoping I don’t have to run spacers though. Ugh.

Finally installed this water tank and pump I got for a steal off a local member. Was waiting to finally wire up a BlueSea aux fuse setup before I even bothered wiring the pump up. Not really too difficult to install the ironman 4x4 pump and hose up the plumbing. Now I can wash my dog off at the beach before she gets back into the truck haha.

15 gallon water tank and pump and respective hardware/fittings are from ironman 4x4, other brass hardware is just home depot put-together crap to make something clean and usable.
