This popped up on my browser today! Wish you the best @BamBeds this is a really cool design. Not quite for me for how I camp (I use a roll-a-cot) but still really cool and simple. If my wife ever starts to truck campe with me, I'm all over these.

Currently testing out these 12x12" carpet squares which are a really easy way to add some extra padding/comfort or block off the handle openings if you have pets or just don't want stuff to fall through the gaps. Awesome results so far! More pics coming soon
The total cost to carpet one side of a long bed bambed would be about $45.

Just updated the website with a link to these! (full disclosure: I do make a small commission if you buy these through my link)
I appreciate all of your support!

I've been thinking of ways to easily turn these into a table during the day when outdoors if that gives you any ideas. Possibly cutting them in half too and looking at ways to be stackable and modular. Also besides your tote you have on your site I think the dimensions of these look like they'll fit under. https://step22gear.com/collections/all-adventure-travel-bags/products/stingray-flat-box Anyway just giving you ideas for the future products.

@deuceb I have been thinking of the same. Making a short table is doable, making something taller is a bit more difficult without getting additional non-wood hardware involved. I'm trying to stick to only using wood at this point to keep the design super simple and reliable.
I appreciate your suggestion, I'll keep thinking about it!

Most recently I've been working on a rocking couch (preview below), it seats 2-3 people easily and is a fun thing to have around the campfire or at home when you're not on a trip.
The final design may look slightly different. It goes together like legos in under a minute. I'm pretty excited to see it in real life after staring at CAD for too long.

I could also make a non-rocking design pretty easily, let me know what you'd prefer!

    Discount code still valid?

In the high desert would I prefer Birch or Bamboo? (low humidity)

Any weight limitations built into spec if I wanted to store gear on top of the platform?

Birch would probably be your best bet. I live in New Mexico and work in construction. We recently installed some plyboo (bamboo plywood) that our architect specified, even though we told him not too, and we are having a lot of issues with it due to the low humidity, like we warned him. We are seeing problems with the veneer splitting and separating from the core. You may not have the same issue since I'm sure its a different manufacturer and you will more than likely be sealing it as well. That's just my opinion on the matter though.

Yes, the discount code is still active.

There are really no weight limitations within reason. 400+ lbs per board so more than the payload capacity of the truck if evenly distributed across all 3 long bed boards.
If you break a board in half I'll send you a new one for free - but you owe me a good story! (This has never happened before... but I know there's a first time for everything)

@Horger12 I'm curious what sort of finish your architect spec'd or recommended. I've been doing a mineral oil coat on all the Bamboo which has worked well so far in preventing any moisture-related issues.

We actually put two coats of a semi-gloss laquer on it. The manufacturer requires 35-65% relative humidity year round in areas the product is installed, and NM does not have that. One of the other reasons why it probably split is because of the texture of the material as well since it would separate along the grain at the different color variations.

Also, sorry if this goes off topic at all but it's definitely something to consider with material choices.

BamBeds does this chair/rocker use the same panels as the bed? And you just would sell the support frame and the bed sections would fit?

or is this a 100% unique product?

cause if you could do the former, well, that would be killer. Convert your bed setup to a seating setup in minutes!

Yes it does! Everyone's existing boards will work with the couch legs and you will be able to buy the couch legs separately.
I'm just working on getting the amount of rock and the balance point all dialed in. Should be ready to order in a week or two.

That my is cool! are you going to do rocker only or standard flat also? Maybe with a bit of a back slant like an Adirondack chair
