Cleaning oil spills, tips and tricks

whats everyone's go to for cleaning up oil spills? Im talking changing your oil, misplaced your bucket, or like me, oil comes out fast and sprays out of bucket. For my cleanup, this would be off garage bare concrete floor.

I always keep a large piece of cardboard in the garage which i place under me while doing fluid changes. That takes care of 80%. Anything off the cardboard i drop clay kitty litter, then very last step maybe put a new thin layer of kitty litter and grind it into my concrete floor, then sweep up.

As i was doing this over the weekend i thought Tacomaworld would have some tips they have used in the past.

 

Spray brake cleaner and light it on fire

 

That's what I do. Grinding it in with your foot seems to be the key.

 

Kitty litter

 

I usually spray with alcohol or brake cleaner and then throw some baking soda or cat litter.

 

Same as you from the sound of it. I got my oil catch can with cardboard around it. And then just keep some kitty litter on hand for any mishaps.
