I had a set of ATIIIs installed about a month ago on my 2018 limited. I went with 265/70/17 and really like them. I have only put on about 500 miles but mileage seems similar to the Michelins and I don't have a lot of road noise. I think the ride is better with the 17" rims vs the 18". Even my wife likes them and is like Mikey from Life cereal - She hates everything

Hi all, Ive had a set of these tires (LT 265 70 17)since last june and so far put 10,000 miles on them. I rotate them every 3,000 miles with oil changes and run about 32-37 PSI. Through winter they did great. Recently they have gotten louder. Is it the general theme that these get louder with some miles on them or am I an outlier? I am a mechanic so I am able to keep alignments up to spec and can confirm the tread has no edge wear, cupping, etc. Starting to think about some sound deadening. Thanks!

5k on my set of Toyo AT3s on my GX470. From day one they were loud, but only at freeway speeds. I frequently commute 300 mile round trips through the mountain pass and normally cruise at 75mph. Think of it as a whine instead of a groan that you would hear from an MT with large voids in the tread. My previous tires were the Yokohama X-AT which is a hybrid of an AT and MT and those would "groan" on the same commute. No other complaints of these tires though. They are 10lbs lighter per tire in the same LR E size than the Yokohama's and are much better in the wet and snow.

I got mine at Discount Tire and they were the best deal I could find. They were having a 10% sale and I got another 5% for getting and using their credit card. The credit card has an absurd 30% APR so I wouldn't keep a balance on it.

Also wound up starting to develop a driveline vibration at the time that I wrote this so kind of falsely blamed the tires because it was actually just the driveline starting to get noise so the two combined made me think the tires were just getting super loud lol

Do the Toyo ATIII LT275/70/17 have the aggressive sidewalls?

Has anyone directly compared the different load options with these tires up close? If so, are the sidewalls equally aggressive with both loads? I can’t get a sense of any differences with the pictures shown here or other websites.

I have a set of C on our Tacoma and E's on my GMC and they look the same, I looked at a set of SL's and they were not the same with less tread and less sidwall.

We can confirm there are some cosmetic and construction differences between the 2. As @CMillTacoma noted, the LT versions start off with more tread depth. For example in the 265/75R16 size, the LT models start with 16/32nds tread depth where as the SL models start at 13/32nds. There are also subtle sidewall differences between them.

Just for the interest of sharing data, the OWL option in the LT option shows to be 1/4" taller in overall height than the other options.

The OWL also shows it's lighter by a few pounds, were you ever able to find out why?

Had a set of 265/65/R17 XL installed Monday at the dealer. I replaced the OEM Firestone Destination LE2 tires.

    Initial impressions.

    - tires look great!
    - ride seems softer than OEM tires
    - a little louder than OEM tires
    - set at 34 psi
    - nice driving tire
    - gas mileage may have taken a 0.5L/100KM hit but it's a little early to tell yet. Only have 250 KM on tires.

I had a 150 KM round trip yesterday for an out of town job, Truck was loaded up with tiling tools and supplies. Average 11L/100KM to job site. 10.3L/100KM return trip. Rural coastal roads with lots of hills to climb. Average speed was 85-90 KM/HR. Can't complain with that.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Would recommend. Only issue is that the tech installed 2 tires with the raised letters out, 2 in. Will have to get that changed.

Moving from Nitto Ridge Grappler 265 /70 R16 116T XL BSW to Toyo Open Country A/T 3 LT285 /75 R16 126R E1 OWL. Has anyone else NOT seen the Speedo inaccuracies the Tacoma World tire calculator showed. It seems to be pretty spot on, very least not the 5mph difference at 70 mph the calculator showed.
    * side note love the tires having stock goodyear wranglers, Ridge Grapplers and now these they are 100% the winners.

just a couple of things tbh
i could have sworn i posted in here before when i got these tires but maybe not?

but here is my opinion of the tires so far... i got them about 6 months ago from discount tire (no complaints from them tbh) but i havent been able to do 6 months of driving (motorcycle accident and not able to drive for like 2 months) these tires have roughly 5-7k miles on them and i can not stand them!!! they perform good in snow and great in rain so thats good and they seem to wear great but they are ungodly loud!!! at 60mph i have to yell to my passenger for them to hear me! i had a set of cooper st maxx before these and they are way more aggressive and they were not even close to being this loud! (well until there was little to no tread left on them then they got loud!). i have no clue on offroad performance because well im planning on selling my truck so dont wanna go out and break things haha. the odd part about these tires is they were fine for about a month to a month and a half then they randomly got stupid loud and they just get louder all the time! i contacted discount tire to get them replaced but sadly im past the time to get them replaced by them or toyo.... so im now stuck with them and i couldnt be more disappointed in a tire... especially when i was told these tires are not loud at all!

sorry if this rambles on but this is my thoughts of the tires they do great in snow and rain and do good for road manners but are stupid loud and i will not buy another set of toyos...

    should have gotten wildpeaks...

pcitured below is my 285/75/17 toyo atIII's
