What have you bought in the last 48 hours gun related?

Is that a zip tie or a piece of paracord or? near the muzzle (attaching the holster to the strap)? Depending on how it fits, I'd be a little leery of the front sight causing wear, assuming it's the standard serrated ramp front.

Great idea repurposing the holster though, I like chest carry when wearing waders- who made the holster?

I have no idea... I doubt I was the one who bought it. I married so my wife doesn't tell me what I can wear, but she makes sure I only own things she approves of lol

They are metal d rings, I checked holstering and unholstering and everything looked like it cleared, but I'm sure it's possible and especially in actual use things may be a bit different. I've carried this gun virtually everywhere but the shower everyday for the past 8 years or so, so I have a little holster wear to show for that, but I wouldn't want to knock my sight off.

Ehh I'm probably going to get a new barrel for the AR10 but not doing Aero/BA again

 

I only have the one barrel in the 308 but no complaints with the barrel. The Hanson barrels in 556 especially get good reviews but IDKany more than that. There are many out there to choose from that is for sure. Did they straighten out your 308? Or are you hhaving a poor experience with them?
