First mod on the g17 is a small one. Extended mag release from Tyrant Designs. So much better than the stock mag release. Don’t have to drastically change grip to release the mag now. Got a flared magwell coming in too

How sacrilegious is it to have a Gen 2 19 milled for an optic

I use a local gunsmith, I have a partnership with his shop and he does my work for free because I send him business from my retail shop

I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna do it...value of the gen 2s seem to be going up a bit

    I already have a 17 and a 34 with an RMR each

    I don't really wanna buy another Glock...I own 4 17s, a 19, a 19x, a 22, a 23, a 43, 2 48s, and 2 43x

Not cutting the 22 or 23 and a full size RMR won't fit the slimline pistols

The 19x is also a possibility but I really like it as is plus I don't wanna have to buy another Safariland holster for it

I'm in that boat. I shoot fine with 3 dot irons on my pistols and I have them all set up the way I like, in the holsters that I like. I don't want to have to holster shop all over again. I already have a bin full of holsters that I've tried and didn't like!

    Pass

Maybe I'll just keep sitting on the RMR and eventually use it somewhere else

    Why pass?

That seems to me to be the perfect solution. You get a red-dotted 2nd Gen, but get to keep your 2nd Gen original.

Are there many issues fitting an aftermarket upper?

I don’t particularly want to spend that kind of money honestly to get something I actually like

I don’t like most of the aftermarket slides

I've never looked at any aftermarket slides up close, so I am curious.

My Glocks are 4th and 5th Gen - one is MOS. Maybe someday...
