I have yet to post the Rago Fab battery tray/Grp.35 battery and installation, but I'm using Fastronix military style posts, and have a few existing lugs that are smaller than their 3/8" bolt; is there an easier way to connect those other than to the smaller dia. clamping bolt (even then, finding it difficult to connect there)? Thx!

Tomorrow Im finally getting some time to work on this again. I got the engine bay to bed wire ran. Need to run a 22 gauge wire into the cab from the bed, to an ignition source. Also need to replace my solar cables and make a mount for the battery. The mount will be temporary, until I get to the next step of my bed build with L-track, and mount the battery there.

Really hoping to get things mounted and in place tomorrow. Everything is custom, so thats whats taking most of my time. Plus working with aluminum, i want to make sure everything is in the right spot before I drill, since I have one shot.

Horrible picture, but getting much closer. Had to stop for the day because i work nights on Thursday and Friday.

Just need to make a couple shorter wires and then get things situated with grommets and zipties. Im glad it's coming together.

Test fit looks awesome! About to throw in the battery. Decided to wait on hooking up the alternator.

    Great thread!!
Thanks for everyone sharing. I started out looking into upgrading my on-board air compressor (because my viair leads were barely long enough to reach the RR tire), but now I also want to add an aux battery in the bed, too.
Too many great/inspiring upgrade options from TW

    Quick question,

Will a 100ah optima battery drop volts slower than say a 55ah?

Well, technically yes... Voltage is an easy way to measure battery capacity. So, an AGM battery at 12.7V is at full capacity and at about 12.2V is 50% capacity. The larger the battery or more AH's it has, the slower your voltage with drop under load. On another note, I would not recommend Optima. For the money you can get so many other better options. I would recommend Northstar X2, Deka AGM, or Duracell AGM if you want something a little cheaper.

These are safe as cranking batteries for my truck?

Also what battery tray would suit that size?

You can easily install this battery: X2Power BCI Group 27M 12V 90AH 930CCA AGM Deep Cycle Marine & RV Battery - SLI27AGMDPM at Batteries Plus with Amazon.com: Genuine Toyota (74481-0C030) Battery Clamp : Automotive and these: Amazon.com: Road Power 966-12 J Hook Battery Hold down bolts, 2-Pack, Chrome, 12-Inch : Automotive

You may need to bend the positive cable a little to fit to the new battery and trim the battery tray lip, otherwise this would work. This all really depends on your goals though... What are you planning to power with this battery?

New here-has anybody ever broken off the bracket that's under the hood on the wheel well on the passenger side where folks mount their second battery? 2021 TRD OR with a custom mount and a group 34 battery. Spot welds seem to have sheered straight off
