NICE! not bad, im very surprised to see truck calculation is close especially with larger tires.

Also 4.30/gallon.... i know its nucking futs relatively, but man id love for that 5.80+ around here.

I'm getting stock MPG or better, in my stock Tacoma...
A month or two ago:
I drove about 35 miles North from Ridgecrest to Fossil Falls = 20mpg leg
I then hung a West and drove to Sacatar Canyon Trail trailhead in S1 for 3 or 5 miles = 9 mpg leg
I left and retraced the path to R/C, netting 31mpg for this leg
Mileage depends heavily on whatchur doin and whereyur goin with 2TR-FE

 

I don't know what milage you are getting my brand new TOR MT all stock with tonneau cover with 830 miles only gets 16.5 mpg mixed driving. I am not pushing yet since it is still in the break-in period of 1000mi.

 

These threads make me smile. Do you even basis for comparison bruh?

FWIW I consider anything above 14 MPG a win as I regularly tow 3000# + off road. I'd be eating out more if I were pulling 20+ MPG.

 

They seem to get better mileage after a few thousand miles. Also, your speed, type of driving, even weather can have a significant affect.

 

I often drive 40-50 miles to and from work and if I'm light on the gas pedal going the interstate 70mph or a couple mph over I can get 24+ mpg pretty regularly. Stock tire size, 1.5" rear end lift, fiberglass topper.

This was the most boring 400 miles I think I have ever drove. But I did drive at or above the speed limit.

 

Agree here. 2020 Pro. So V6 4X4 1" factory lift. And 32's. 1.5" over stock. Foothills of NC. AC on 80% of the time.
Cruise control NEVER on.

 

I'll post my fuelly data below (apologies if I already did it earlier in the thread), and you can see that winter (combo of weather, increased resistance on the road surface, and "winter blend" gas, etc.) has a noticeable negative effect on my per-tank average.



I've noticed the truck has really loosed up after ±10k miles. Driving on the highway used to tank my trip MPG vs the sedate 40-50mph backroad I generally drive in my daily commute. Now, after about 10k, I can actually get a steady 20mpg at 70mph. Maybe that's all in my head or some placebo effect, but it's what I've noticed.

 

try driving into a 15+mph headwind and making over 20mpg. it is windy as shit in north texas, almost every single day of the year. i didnt realize i could control the weather but if you are aware of some sorcery that i dont know of then please enlighten me.

 

Yup! I got 19.9 MPG in my '19 4Runner on 295/70/17 mud tires @ 65# apiece by driving 60 mph or less for ~150 miles. I've also gotten 9 MPG by trying to keep up with my gearhead buddies driving through the country.

Ordinarily, I get 16-17 highway. But, if I go 80+, it drops to 12-14.

 

Exactly, there are just too many variables for absolutes.

A lot of people rip on the EPA tests but they do it that way so that every single vehicle is tested exactly the same way in as close to a "controlled" setting as possible, otherwise you'd never really be able to compare vehicles on MPG. There will always be variance + or - when the rubber hits the road, wherever you may be.

Just filled up last week and did the math...22.1 mpg nearly the same i use to get at this time when the weather got warmer last year. By july i should be around 23, or a tiny bit more.

 

2.7L on weekend fishing trip
500 lb of passengers
150 lb gear
Interstate highway with 75 mph speed limit running no more than 80 mph
NO CRUISE Control

 

I agree. I was worried when I first got it I was getting 17 ave at best (trying my best to baby it), now I get 19ish ave driving gently. I still have yet to see 20+ ave but it also only has 4000 miles on it.

 

I am struggling to hit 14 (non-adjusted for 33s). I drove a new Tacoma OR on a work trip and was only seeing 15 mostly city mpg. I do have armor, bumpers, winch, sliders, etc.

 

I hope my 16.2 -16.5 mpg improves as tge engine breaks in. I mean I knew what I was getting so I am not too upset over this, I love my taco MT
