Every time I say I'm going to pull off my rear bumper it's either - too hot out or too late so I'll do it tomorrow :bananadead:

Relentless fab still has one in their website somewhere around $2500 sitting in the shopping cart.
Coastal Offroad has one I like too. I feel like after factoring in powder coating the cost between the two isn't far off.
    Aluminum would be cool

Going to a metal shop tomorrow after school to maybe get some material.

Thinking I'll go rectangular tubing for the swingout so I don't have to go so thick and heavy versus square.

I like the looks of the plate steel. Round tubing just doesn't do it for me

I find that making a spreadsheet with weights and prices really helps my decision making. Even if it’s just a ballpark, I can save a lot of weight and money by figuring some round numbers beforehand

I really like their stuff, and they still keep it cheaper than most others.

    Here's the idea -

Flat plate that becomes the "face" of the rear bumper. This will bolt onto the rear bumper as it's part of the frame.

The ends will extend out for a swingout, only one and it'll only take half the width not the full width of the bumper.

Once that's done, it just comes down to welding plates for 'brackets' so I can make it a bolt-on piece.

But yeah you're right in that I should find out the weight of desired tubing. Just figured with rectangular tubing, I have a larger surface area to weld with and on so I wouldn't have to go so thick on the material.

I really like the Relentless rear wrap around bumper. So expensive though. Especially with the swingout.
