Oh man, I really like it. I have it mounted on the CNC table now, but just having it as a hand held was a great boost in my game.

I have a nice oxy/ac that I THOUGHT was great, until I got the cutter. That poor oxy torch has only been touched maybe twice in the last 2.5 years since I got the plasma.

At first, I was just blasting stuff with it, but now I am a little more careful on amperage and air pressure. On the table it really cuts clean. I just gotta get some more consumables and start matching tips to amperage/psi/metal thickness.

Postage is paid both ways. I haven't had anything go wrong on either of my units, but I have read, if they diagnose over the phone, and you want to just have parts mailed to you, they will, Otherwise, send it back (US).

    Everything is 3yr full coverage.

Funny I still use the torch way more then the plasma.

It is the difference between opening tanks or Turning a Switch. Force of habit I still reach for the striker on my right side and nod my head.

I sold my torches soon after I got the PC. I honestly can't think of a time I missed them.

Back in the day when hi frequency was the only arc starter sweating wasnt much fun. LOL

I'm on the sales side, have been since the early 80's. Always in on Pipelines, Steel Mills, Cement plants and Quarries. In the last 40 years the welding world has changed drastically. Inverters came along in the early 90's and nothing has been the same since. I used to deal with some restaurant repair guys and they swore by the old Norweld, later known as Lincoln Norweld welders. The size of a shoe box and 50 lbs, then the little Miller Maxstars got popular, the first micro-processors (MP4 I think) to make them do all kinds of cool shit was an add on that screwed onto the machine case and had about 50 dip switches on the back.

I think brand has become less important with inverters, after warranty runs out you can buy a new machine for $100 more than the board costs to repair an old one.

You would be the only one I know who reaches for the torch first. Kind of a time is money thing, plasma is a 20 second affair to get up and cutting.

When I can heat with the Plasma I might use it more.

If I did more Aluminum and Stainless

Habits die hard The torch is lite before I give it a thought.

Were they paid to act manly? I dont get it. Why would anyone let the color of a tool interfere with their job duties?

I dont know about warranty, but their customer service has been stellar for us.

One of my students brought one in, and I was so impressed with it, I bugged Primeweld about features, etc, asked a bunch of technical questions, and ended up ordering 2 for our program so other students can try them.

Lots of students ask about the budget friendly machines so I bought a few of them so they can try them out and make their own decision. 150 welding machines in the labs, figured we should have at least a few under $2500 for students to try.

Fair warning, I was less than unimpressed with the foot pedal. Miller still has the best foot pedal out there, by far.

What can I say it was the mindset of the people I worked with in those days.

Yes I think some thought they were paid to act Manly.

I remember on time one of the female receiving clerks had a Pink hard hat she went on vacation no one would sit at her desk or touch her hard hat.

    That's freaking awesome.

Yeah our class is pretty small, so there's a lot more 1 on 1 with our instructor if and when needed.

We've got Miller Multimatic 255's that we'll do stick, MIG, and TIG though I've never used one for TIG.

I've used the Lincoln 210MP for scratch-TIG and I didn't care to shut off the gas manually after every weld.

We also have an Eastwood TIG welder and that one I didnt care for the pedal at all. It's weird in that it has a voltage dial on the pedal as well, in case you want to run max on the machine and limit said voltage at the pedal or vice versa. Having played with the Prime Weld I liked that one best hence why I bought one.

Now I'm just stoked for my other Prime Weld to arrive.

It's cool you guys have been having great luck with them. They are actually headquartered 35 mins for me and they sell open box/scratch and dent units for cheaper than online so I was thinking of getting their CUT60 dual voltage machine to do some cutting and be ready for an eventual table hopefully when I get a bigger shop.

I hate to say that the more and more I weld MIG, the less I think I'll actually do any TIG.

Idk if I want to add another cart to throw my machine on, or pull off the TIG welder and put on my MIG welder once it arrives. My garage isn't the biggest.

    Finally!

    Someone who gets it!

I've been MIG welding for 25+ years. I'm still learning new tricks.

No way do I want throw TIG welding into that mix.

I don't have that much life to live.

TIG is definitely relaxing, and if I did it often enough that it mattered, trust that I'd want to get really good at it.

Because I do MIG for work (and non-work related stuff), I feel anything I'll ever need can be done with MIG.

The reason for having bought my TIG welder was for aluminum, and so if I can become proficient with doing fillet welds and whatnot, that's enough for me.

But I'd rather MIG everything; it's fun and doesn't require so much prep.

    I'm calling bull shit!

What's more relaxing than the neighbor 3 doors down asking if you can weld up his shock tower that he tore while showing off to the hotty the next block over?

Grab the Mig, glue it up and send him on his way after he tucks you a hundy for 40 minutes of laying on your back. You ain't doing that with TIG.

I've tried to be political over the years in this thread, but I just can't sugar coat it any more.

    Fuck TIG welding.

Im glad it works for you. I have too much stuff that needs out the door. The prep time is a deal breaker for me.

No one is x raying and inspecting my welds except me.

I know quality mig welds and I know what is going to hold.

I do it for the money. Those days are going to be over soon enough.

I see no reason to bring TIG into an equation where the only ones who will know the difference is those in this thread .
