Well for me it's a tinkering project to keep me occupied and so I have some purpose in life to an extent. Technically it's @CygnusX191 's. I'm too tall for it. We're basically sharing it for right now

Gonna get it running and moving first and then we'll be moving on to the body and frame. I think a SAS will happen to it eventually. The block I picked up is gonna get torn down, cleaned and then rebuilt with a mixture of parts that are from the 22re that's currently in the truck and new parts

We picked it up for $250 before it went to the scrapyard. As hard as these are getting to find I wanted to give it another chance at life. Gonna be quite a bit of work but we're not in rush to finish it. Eventually I want to look for an Xtra cab for a dedicated trail rig, still gonna wheel the tacoma, but I want something that I can absolutely thrash on

Crossmembers in the rear are done for gonna cut them off and weld new ones in. Gonna take the bed off and wire wheel the frame and do some repairs if needed then POR15 it. Cab is probably gonna come off as well so we can work on that part of the frame as well. Don't know if we'll be able to save the cab, gonna try though

Another idea is if the frame is completely unsalvagable my thought was take everything off and basically do a copy and paste of the frame. Build a new one that matches the old one but with better and slightly thicker steel

Wish yall were closer. I'm pretty handy with a welder. :welder:
I'm sure that frame could use a nice working over with some extra plates....

To be fair, like six other guys looked at this truck and wanted to buy it, we were just first. And other than the rear cross members, the frame itself is not in bad shape at all. Also I think the cab is completely salvageable, it just needs better floor.

Worst case scenario on the frame. Haven't had a chance to crawl underneath it to really get a good look yet. Not saying the cab can't be saved, just gonna be a lot of work to save it. Might be able to find weld-it-yourself body parts online
