    What's up!

Today I picked up a set of leather seats, so stoked! They are manual, gray leather, and bolt directly in. Unfortunately I didn't realize that the leather seats I purchased do not have airbags on the side of the seats so I assume they are a from a previous year.

My original seats are equipped with airbags and feature a yellow harness for connectivity.

I've gone ahead and installed them, they look great and feel comfortable! As a result, the red airbag light is on in the dashboard.

Anyone ever come across this issue? Thoughts or feedback?

It got dark on me, my bad.

Will do! Going to upload pictures of the original seats, pics of the wiring harness underneath, plus, the leather seats installed tomorrow AM.

Somebody can probably help you more, but I know you can put a resistor in line with the old plug to trick the computer into thinking the airbag is still there.
You'll also have to get a code reader that can clear srs codes to get rid of the light and make your airbags work again.

    Thanks!

Yes, that’s what I want to learn about, how to add an inline resistor. Is that something you’ve read into before or is there a link you can hook me up with?

Yes, I’ve used Innova scanners before and some of those have the ability to clear SRS codes.

Here’s some quick pics I took of the leather seats.

Just curious what the donor vehicle was for those seats. They look good.

Possibly 09? The guy I bought them from purchased them used and never installed them. They had been sitting in his garage for some time now.

Taco? 4runner? I'm interested in your seat conversion because the cloth seats in my '15 are killing my back. I keep wanting to sell the truck and get a mid-size car but honestly my issue is that the stock seats just suck.

Unfortunately @ktmrdr wasnt able to respond to my message.
Attached is a picture of what I tried to rig up based on the thread.

The Airbag light is still on even with this mod plugged in with the yellow connector.

Maybe it’s time to get an SRS reader and try clearing it?

I’m looking at Innova brand. Hoping someone can jump on this and shed some light.

Nope, 2009s Tacomas had the side seat airbags. Those look pretty worn, at least the driver's side. Why didn't you get them re-covered before you put them in?

Yes, the airbag light will still be on until you get a reader to scan and clear it.

I used the app OBDLink on my android phone and purchased an OBD/ USB cable that I hooked up with a USB C/ USB A adapter. In the app, you can purchase SRS scanning capabilities for vehicles (was $5 for each vehicle when I did it) and then read and clear them. All said it was less than $20, which at the time was the cheapest solution.

The cushion feels comfortable. I was so eager to install them, May just repair it with JB Weld leather vinyl repair kit.

Pretty sure the limited trim did. As to your question, maybe those who don’t dig cheap crappy cloth seats

    Quick update:

removing the fuse from this harness worked. Airbag light turned off, no SRS reader required.

Also, when I purchased these seats I got the double cab rear seats.
I don’t need them, if anyone is interested in them let me know
