Anyone also have a problem with turning on the AC high and it turns off only works on lower settings could just be the blower motor third GEN Tacoma 2016?

Sounds like ‘blower motor resistor’ issue. Id do a search for that .

The blower motor resistor works on all the settings, except on high when it is by passed. I don't know if that helps, but hopefully you can get it figured out. I replaced the blower motor on my daughter's Camry because it would vary speed when on a setting without changing it. The OEM motor I got from Toyota was $140 with a new resistor (which is right up front). I think the Tacoma Blower motor costs less. Three screws and it comes right out from the passenger side. Good luck!

The A/C compressor or the blower fan turns off on high?

Might need to give us some more info.

Is it the AC or the fan?
Does it do this with heat?
What speeds does the fan work?
Does the AC button light up, or does it turn off?

Sounds like the resistor issue that the second gens had. My 09 developed this issue and it got worse over time and in the summer heat of AZ. Eventually replaced the resistor and that fixed it for a few years. Started happening again and found it was the harness that connect to the resistor. It was melted and not making good contact. Toyota actually had a repair kit for this very issue which included the resistor and harness.
