Hello all! Just got my first Tacoma. I’m looking to do a 3’ lift on my 96 xtracab. Curious if there are highly recommend complete lift kits and what I’ll need?

Do some searching, there are literally hundreds of threads from people who've asked this same question.

Be honest with yourself on your budget, type of driving you do (which dictates the actual type of lift you'd "need"), your skills as a DIY, etc...

You'll likely find there are few, if any, quality 3" lifts because that is at the upper limit of what the suspension and drivetrain can handle, without starting an arms race of other mods.

These trucks are FAR more capable than the average driver off road when completely stock. I would suggest putting your hard earned money into a decent set of all terrain tires and gas (i.e. just go drive the thing) before throwing a bunch of money at sick mods.

It's cool- they should just add some spoilers to help smooth the air flow, that'll bring the mpg right back up.

Waiting for someone from the "I've got 33's, full skids and an RTT and get 20mpg easy" crowd to respond.
