Cabin Air Filter

Time for a cabin air filter change. Lots of choices out there and prices all over the place. Which ones do you prefer and is one really better than another?

 

I got the K&N after finding a lot of dust getting by the poorly sealed stock one. I've cleaned it a few times now and do like it.

Same here.

 

Just put a new one in today, replaced with a paper and carbon filter. Was happy I did, there was a bunch of stuff on it and the white fibers were a little dirty but done now.

 

I keep blowing mine out every 3 or 4 months, with the leaf blower. When it gets too blackish, it's gone.

 

same! washed the kn filter twice already. worth it especially each time you buy a new fram is like 20 bucks

 

I found that I really like the subtle smell of their fluid.

The cleanability is as good as the engine air filters.

 

Another vote for K & N. I clean it about every 10 K

 

oh yeah. did you ever get a cot and replace your sleeping pads?

 

Helps allot if you don't park under trees and if you see leaves or seed pods laying under the windshield get the damn things off your truck. Blows me away how lazy some people are. I saw person driving a Ford truck with a bug shield on the front here visiting someone in the projects last week. It had so many seed pods from a Maple tree piled behind it they were piled 5 inches behind it on the fricken hood! If I see the truck here again this weekend I'll take a picture of it and post it here. The dudes bug shield has 2 yellow ducks and the word "QUACK" painted on it. LOL!

 

I use cabin air filters with activated charcoal in them, on all of the vehicles that use them.
I find that it really helps to reduce funky oders in the cabin.

 

That is why I don't buy a fram and buy the cheaper EPauto ones on Amazon. I don't have to put allot of gas in my truck each year so the $10.97 cabin filter is nothing. I did have a KN in my truck before I didn't think much of it. They let allot more air pass through I could tell that.

No cot for me. I considered that one without the middle legs for a while, but I'm comfy on the camping pad(s).

 

I get mine from Autozone.

$25 STP Max CAF1765M, has activated charcoal for smells. No complaints.
