I have a 2022 Tacoma trail edition. If you are not familiar it has a 1.1” front lift and a .5 in rear spacer I want to put on 305 70r16 tires Iam not concerned about tire height but the width is worrisome Can it be donewithout scrapping ?

It will rub. Your better off running a taller skinny tire. Those 305s are pretty much as wide as a 35".

This post reminds me of a 3rd gen I saw last weekend. I swear it had 15" wheels, but those won't fit. The wheels must have been 16x14 with a negative 40 offset, and not too tall of a tire.

3rd gens had a 15" wheel option in base models with the smaller brakes.

    I though 15s only fit 5lug 2nd gens, and would clear 1st gen 6lug.

IDK, these wheels were small, but it was a VD blue SR5 DCSB, most likely 16s on there.

It won't even work on 285. Don't even think about 305.

If on stock wheels you will need a wheel spacers. Even with 3" lift and body lift that tire will rub. SPC control arms to push tire forward, cab mount chop, some hammering of pinch weld and trimming of plastic liner and bumper.

I have a 2 inch lift, CMC and -10 wheels and I still rub with 285s backing up.

Need some SPCs set at G location. Those tires would clear the cab mount without a chop.

Throw in "what kind of lift should I run" and "what's the best oil" and the circle will be complete.

You gotta remember that 70 is the aspect ratio, so it’s definitely taller than let’s say 265/70/17. Also, just because you have a lift, doesn’t mean you can fit huge tires. Lift just changes the starting point.

305/70/17 will not fit without quite a bit of cutting and trimming. Does this size even exist?
