I was gonna post some random BS but it doesn't feel right. I know probably half y'all regulars got kids, and a number of them in school and that age. I can't imagine, can't even begin to. Let alone the parents who lost children in the attack, I can't even fathom all that.

 

I could go for some BS to take my mind off of it

 

Any of y'all use then hydrocolloid bandages? I have NEVER heard of these things. Wife brings some home after some nasty posion ivy on my fingers and slaps them on. Cool beans. Probably under wraps through the rest of the week and then should be able to do things again.

Like put on a pair of gloves and go to town clearing out anything that might be poision ivy in my yard

shenanigans.

Anyway there's a thing this Saturday right? Treehouse? We doing BTs or nah?

 

Never heard of them but I'm super allergic to poison ivy... if it has 3 leaves in my yard, round-up to the rescue.

They aren't specific for poison ivy but I had a pretty bad rash to it, so my skin was F'd. Usually I just ride it out and I have it now on my arm and that's fine but I dunno it must have been real bad on my fingers this time around. Should be wrapped up the rest of this week then able to go to normal bandaids for another couple days.

THEN I'm going out there like a bat outta hell. Long sleeves. Gloves. Duct taped together. Pulling everything up I see that ain't grass.

 

Zanfel. At CVS or the like, super$$$ but worth every penny.

 

Treat it like tractor grease. Wash it off with dawn dish soap and a solid scrub not a quick dash and it'll clear off your skin.

My problem is it takes a solid 2-3 days before I notice any itch after an exposure and then the rash is another day or two behind that. So by the time I have any symptoms the urishol is long gone, and I just have to ride it out. Usually it's like a couple days of blisters and it's fine but this time like 6 of them ruptured and it was a lot more surface area. Not a recipe for success.

Won't be riding the road bike for another week but did get my ass on the commuter bike to try it after work today and I at least have front brakes with my left hand so going to give that a whirl.




Loading up the smoker Monday. Thinking chicken drumsticks (already in the freezer) some sausages (my favorite), and then once all that comes off I'll let the head die off and then throw some cheese in with the remnants of the smoke for about half hour - 45 minutes, have some smoked cheese for 4th of July weekend yes please.

 

Yum, been thinking of making a smoker from some 55 gallon drums, have lots all the time and scrap prices suck, but realistically will probably just buy one.

 

Don't do that - never know what was on those things. I have a charcoal barrel grill I use. I just do indirect heat essentially. It's done more pork butts than I can count, but I usually do smaller stuff. Chickens, sausages, pork loins, etc. And a bunch of cheeses.

Haven't run at all this year so need to get er rippin Monday!

 

Since you like sausage (no that's not what I meant) see if you can find some fresh (i.e. not smoked) kielbasa. That's great freshly smoked.

 

It absolutely is! Good call, I have some places around me that might have it. But most around here would have chourico if anything. Gotta be some places in Providende though.

Stupid money but when I got it all between my fingers and my hands starting turning to mittens it cleared it in like 2 days. Longer than they say but way better than anything else I've found.

Both my wife and I got it bad on our arms a few years ago. Called our doctor, had a prednisone prescription called in. Went to pick it up and when i gave our name at the counter the pharmacist in the back started laughing. Came over and told me he filled the script, grabbed the next one and saw same name and same drug. Guessed it had to be married couple both with poison ivy.

 

For real! Probably used the whole,tiny, tube on my hands using it like 3-4 times and in record time I was healing not pussing

Unfortunately whenever anybody in the house gets it I have to go buy it
