Front steel skid was easy, didn’t even need a jack. Roof rack was also easy and instructions were straight forward. The roof rack comes in just the slightest contact with the shark fin antennae but I don’t think it will be a problem. When you remove, cut and re-secure the weatherstripping I found it helpful to mark on the underside which side of the weatherstrip faces inward as the grooves on the roof should mate to the weatherstripping.

I bought mine raw . I work in a collision shop . I refinish mine every yearish along with my front and rear armor. I just expect that due to the material. But yeah they totally bungled the bolts . They were delivered but after I painted and mounted the sliders.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
Fully armored RCI here as well..except the engine skid and LCA skids, I like my Pro skid so I had to use R4T LCA skids..but I have everything else under the truck by RCI. Trans/transfer/fuel and rear diff.

New rack today. I went with the 18inch because I have 2 kids who have endless gear.. So I need as much space inside and outside as possible. It might not look dope. But when I have

That's very unfortunate to hear. 21k is not a lot. They recently started doing powder coating in house. I wonder if you have those, or the older ones done off site? Either way I bet , if you did reach out to them, they would probably fix them for you.

This was all RCIs help. I need 2 more bikes on the outside of taco, probably on the bed rack roof. That way the bed is completely free for the sea kyakas or gear.

RCI is the way. Love that it's local. I drove up to their shop from Colorado Springs to get my sliders but my skids I had delivered.

I will say, they have some real knuckleheads in their shipping department. I ordered bare metal lower control arm skids and they shipped me painted ones. I'm not the first person this has happened to either. I've read of other people getting the wrong thing from them too. In any case, I called them up and they sent me a return label, and had the correct pair shipped out the very next day, so props for that!

I've banged their sliders HARD on quite a few rocks, and they have absolutely 0 dents. Latest addition to my truck is their skid plates in aluminum, with the cat guards.

I’m glad I’m not the only goon waiting on an order. Ordered sliders w/ fill plates Apr 9th and was told by CS they should have entered production in middle of May. No tracking numbers yet.

If you don't mind, I'm thinking of getting the 18" bed rack and had a few questions. What are the dimensions (width/ height) on the top bars for the rack? What's the weight of the rack?

Hoping to use it for kayaks as well with Yakima JayLow bases.

Agree 100%. I’m fully armored with RCI steel front to rear (and I love the products) but when I ordered my sliders they sent me two driver side ones. They obviously took care care of it but it was a major pain in the ass going back-and-forth with shipping them back and waiting for the new one

I don't know of a slider set that doesn't end up with some rust. Sliders get hit from all angles. Rocks/dirt flying up from tires. They get stepped on.

Plus you live in CO where I presume it snows. Most brands end up with rust whether you paint them or buy them refinished already.

After a bunch of back and forth with aluminum vs. steel, 5* vs. 20* sliders, etc., I just sent it and ordered the full skid package with the cat guards, fuel skid and sliders as part of the holiday sale. Brother already has them on his 4R and they look great, especially the welds. I can't wait.

Got a ton of RCI products on my truck. Was missing some hardware for the sliders, steel/rubber washers for the rack and also some powder coat issues on my sliders. RCI did a great job of taking care of these issues and I couldn't be happier. Their install instructions do need to be a little better and are sometimes outdated.

I got the aluminum full skids and gas tank a few months ago.

My only issue was the xfer case cross member would droop down at the aft end no matter how hard I cranked on the bolts. I added another bolt to the aft end of the x-member that contacts the frame and stops it.

Recently I had them all off for the dealer to service and I added the cat guards (more for theft).
    They’re definitely a nice product!

I see some other brands appear to have a bit more support (welded ribs) and a higher lip on the engine’s plate.

Agreed. Mine rust like a mother F@cker and I don't even live somewhere where it's humid. I just hit them with some spray paint every 6 months and it seems to take care of it

My metal tech 4x4 sliders rusted. I sanded, 2 coats of etching primer, 3 coats of paint. Still rusted and I live in SoCal.

Went with the 12 inches rack because I also have a tonneau cover and the adapters were bringing the rack 3 inches higher. Felt it was the perfect height. Added two bike mounts.BA7FFEBB-F6C3-48F1-A0CC-2A56222D7D23.jpg

I think you are going to find this with any pre powder coated part. The quality of the mass produced powder coating doesn’t include priming with zinc and a full sandblast.

I have had bumpers and steel parts properly prepped primed and coated by a coater I have worked with for some time. The bumper only showed a spec of rust 1/4 inch wide by one of the seams where the coating was thin after being outside for 7 years.

I order all of my parts raw when I can and have everything re coated.

Im great full these vendors make the parts so I’m not complaining.

I bought a used set of RCI sliders that had been beat to hell. I gave them a halfway decent refinishing and have been happy with them ever since. Top quality product. Customer service is fantastic as well.

I don’t know how the powdercoat process works without searching but regardless there’s no way to tell if the pc pace you drop stuff off to that they’ll do if correctly.
