This is an update from the first post in Feb 2019. I’ll be 75 in another week, still going strong, and still planning on another Tacoma. Nothing wrong with us elderly folks owning a cool truck

69 and own my fifth Tacoma. My second was a third generation TRD Off Road. The transmission put me over. The other four were second generation. Still driving and loving the 2012 TRD Off Road ACCESS Cab.
Had a 1977 HiLux for a couple of years then went to a 1982 Celica.

Broke the 50-year milestone almost two years ago! I've had four Tacomas in a row. The last three were a 2011, 2016 and now 2022! All different trims! Gotta keep mixing it up!

Like my Dad, who is 85, tells me; "Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative".
I'm 54 and bought my latest Taco this past January.
This was the 2nd weekend I owned it, out at the hunting lease.

I'll be 60 in August (then I'll move to the 60 year old Tacoma thread..) My first Toyota was a brand new 1984 extended cab 4x4 LB, 5 speed I bought on leave while in the USMC. My second was a 1983 4x4 SB, 5 speed. Fast forward 20+ years and I just purchased a 2015 Tacoma DCSB MGM with 14K miles! I hope to be 4 wheeling for many years to come with my wife, kids and grandkids.

Just turned 70 and bought myself a new 2022 TRD Sport 4X4. I'll be using it to explore around the Big Island where I live.

I'm 68 and I've had all 3 gens of Tacoma including the "truck" back in the early 90s. When the Tacoma bug bites, I can't resist.

I forgot there was Plymouth badged Mitsubishi trucks to go with the Ram 50s. Ido recall the Plymouth script on the fender.

    Let's be honest...
If you are in this thread you have probably planned well enough to get any truck you want. So why Tacoma?
    I will start.
I got a Tacoma again because I kept "upgrading" and had a Tundra with every single option... And hated it.
I got a TRD Off Road Tacoma with zero options and smile every time I get in.
My first Toyota was a 1984 4Runner bought new out of the showroom. Have loved Toyotas since. Sure I have strayed, but always come back.

@hiPSI Had a 1992 Extracab V6 5sp 4x4 Toyota Truck I purchased brand new. Owned it for 14 years. Loved that truck. First kid came along and couldn’t fit the car seat in the back. Couldn’t afford a new 2006 Tacoma DC at the time.

    C7AE3BC7-416B-47EE-8032-B7BBD7D7743B.jpg

Purchased a used, affordable 2003 Pathfinder that was 3 years old instead. Drove it for 15 years. Actually was a great family SUV. They long don’t make Pathfinders like that anymore. However, always wanted another Toyota Truck.

At 54 I was finally was able to get back into a Tacoma and we both absolutely love it. We smile every time we drive it.

Could have purchased any other truck. QDR, our family needs and the past reliability and resale of our 1992 brought us back to a Toyota Truck.

Wife and I had a lot of wonderful sentimental memories in our 1992 of exploring, camping and recreating in that truck before kids.

Plans to do lots more with the new truck.
