Monday I wheeled it with a buddy, Badlands offroad park. Almost sunk the 4runner but we both walked away with new pinstripes and some rattles as armor and tires self clearanced.

I didn't have to remove the dash. I was able to just remove the panels by your legs and fished the wires up with a metal coat hanger. It wasn't bad at all.

Since the Milwaukee 3/6 drive metric flats sockets arrived yesterday, I used the help of metric box end wrenches with the ratchet to get the tightest bolts loose this afternoon. Replacing the stock front end cover plate and braces with a 1/4" aluminum IFS skid plate from All Pro Off Road (one of the Trail Gear companies) went well without a lift, and I don't think I wiped off much of the NHOU treatment while doing it. The black powder coat looks good with the black undercoating. After removing the small steel plate and braces, the weight of the skid plate box feels about the same, so I'm pleased with having more coverage, without adding much if any weight. 20220525_142315[1].jpgAfter cleanup in the garage, it was time to call it a day, so without an Old Milwaukee to celebrate, it was a Deschutes Brewing Lil' Squeezy Juicy Pale: "Refreshingly Juicy, Effortlessly Drinkable, Freshly Squeezed. No fruit was harmed in the making of this beer." Tomorrow will likely be time to rotate it out of the garage with my other truck the Sport Metallic Red '07 Malibu LS (131k miles, 21 mpg in town). Barcelona Red gets 18 mpg in town, not much difference, except the seating position that I like a lot better...

I’m not sure, I’m in Texas but I think a lot of 3rd gen tuners in your area should be rolling out the 2nd gen tune soon..

Yeah it’s only been like 20 miles that I’ve been driving it and trust me I was super hesitant because I figured all these tuners bought the software and was just taxing on the price (I paid $300) but the truck def feels a lot better now, I was already regeared to 4.88 but this makes everything so much smoother and I even asked for a discount and told him he could use pics of my truck and stuff haha. Trust me I did not want to pay full price but now I’m really happy I did, he kinda revised it for my 35’s and 4.88

Just ditched the rusty stock steel wheels for a set of the 17x7 TRD Pro aluminum wheels in black, wrapped with 235/75R17 Generals. All new metal screw in valves, 6 oz of balance beads per tire, and new black lug nuts. Now I just gotta disable that TPMS light!PXL_20220524_211840507.jpg
