I’ve never seen anything like that before. I guess I’ve been living under a rock.

You can say the same thing for half the features on the Tacoma as well. Who needs fancy, expensive touchscreen head units, radar cruise control, back up cameras, never used locking differentials, etc when people got by for decades with none of those conveniences?

    I don’t mind the tailgate so much…

It is the rest of the truck where I see the problem.

it's so cute! A teeny tiny tailgate... with more tiny bits to break and cause frustration and angry forum postings!

    Win win

i don't think i've seen a denali truck anywhere in at least 5 years. GMC are not a popular vehicle here.

You’re gonna need armed security to keep a tailgate like that in Cali

My 1969 Mercury wagon had a tailgate the opened flat or swingout. Loved that thing. Super handy.

100% stoopid. This whole tailgate tit for tat is ridiculous. Between Ram's dumb split design, this Chevy / GMC abomination, and Ford's silly step and geriatric handle, it is kina pathetic when there is nothing better than an OG TG.

    Its for antique people.

I do miss my bumper steps I had in my 2018 colorado. If you use your truck as a truck bumper steps are very helpful.

Even on the regular TG Denalis, there is no handle. The thing opens slow AF. It's annoying.

I always thought that was a good idea.
Much better than the Toyota one that hangs below the chassis.

I’m not a fan of any tailgate outside of “the regular” one piece. For a working man’s truck (a real work truck) this split style would be useless especially if hooked to a trailer. You can’t use it when towing (kinda like Fords tailgate step).

Now the bumper insert steps are very useful especially if you have a trailer hooked up (gooseneck).

My coworker’s brand new truck, they stole the whole bed a few months ago. They even brought a torch to cut the exhaust tip off and take it with them. Why just the tip and not the whole exhaust system since they have the tool and easy access after the bed is removed? We have no idea lol.

Like the tailgates on most full size Station Wagons in the 1970s and '80s until the EPA killed them. Went along with the rear facing third seat. ;)
