    Not anytime soon.....

    I really wanted to make this out of aluminum, but with raw material prices the way they are right now, it just couldn't happen.

    The good news, is that the extra weight carries really well because it's mounted so far forward.

    Yes, we will definitely make an aluminum version, but it will be at least a year before those prices come back down.

    What? A 3-dimensional objects center of gravity most certainly has 3 components to its position.

    Rack looks cool AF, and I see it being very popular, as it solves some problems that traditional racks create. Surprised it took this long for someone to think of this.

    We could shave 30 lbs off by making it from aluminum, but then the price would be 50% higher.

    We will make an aluminum version someday, but not until the price of raw materials comes down.

    The northeast does a number on steel even after one season. The weight savings of aluminum are nice too. The higher cost isn't really a concern to be honest; buy once, cry once

    Only 98lbs but that's 10% of the payload on most of these trucks. The steel vs aluminum has been hashed out 11 or 12 times in the thread so far but that's not an insignificant number. You're losing out on an additional 130 beers by having a broverlander rack.
