Well I finally felt better from having the wuwu all week and decided I’d rebuild my severely dilapidated pump house. Everything was fine and dandy until I demo’d the old one. I was too lazy to put the tractor bucket on top of the pump to protect it and sure enough I dropped it right on top and broke some pvc :anonymous: Luckily I had JUST enough shit to fix it with and restore water two hours before HD closes haha threw a tarp over it and called it a night.

New house needs another coat of paint then I’ll tote it down. Also, here’s a good use for your old sway bar end links (cutting and welding required)

Thanks! I was looking around my scrap pile and decided that was the ticket. Maybe the meter guy will get a chuckle out of it.

Note that I said redoing and not correcting. We shoot for a less janky world here, not a perfect one. Gives the next person something to do and feel a motivating, fulfilling righteous anger.

welllllllll..... Some critter burrowed out beneath the patio on the foundation side and years of sitting has it sunk below the grass line. It's split down the middleish so it kinda slants two ways...

Ok I’ve been thinking on this today. Here’s a rough sketch of the layout. The red is the pocket doors, and the blue is just framed walls.

I don’t want to reduce the size of the toilet room space by too much…which plywood, sound proofing, and drywall on the inside of the pocket door frame for the bedroom door would do. So, would doing plywood, sound proofing, and drywall on the BEDROOM side of the pocket door frame/wall achieve the same goal??

I have this south facing window in my home office and it gets unbearably hot in the room.

    178A8986-4BC0-4D28-BA95-213DA4E0374B.jpg

I’ve got some pretty serious tint on it but that’s not enough. I ordered a roller blind that would go from all the way at the top of this window to the bottom of the lower ones but it didn’t work out. Apparently where the mounting bracket would go I have metal behind the drywall.

Other than cutting out cardboard or 1/4” plywood in the shape of this window and just covering it up, what can I do to keep the light and heat from coming through?

Agree with aluminum foil for maximum effect and cool space age aesthetics. I just put roll-down coolaroo shades on the exterior which also keeps the wall from heating in direct sun. Office temp changed from unbearable hot to sweatshirt conditions. Huge benefit to keeping the heat outside before soaking the wall exterior.

I guess you have a couple of options:
    - Replace window with a triple glazed window
    - Custom window valance with heavy curtains
    - Custom window shutters made with a tapering jig
    - Custom foil insert
    - Aluminum foil (will crinkle and make noise as it heats/cools)
    - Cardboard cutout
    - Spray paint

If I were you, I'd look at custom curtains.

I've done the foil thing before, but we're in an HOA area now. My tint is already darker than they allow, so I might try it and see if it can be seen from outside.

I would gladly do that if I knew what it is. I'm going to get into the attic (yuck) tomorrow and see if I can figure it out.

Where I'm trying to install it is where a curtain rod would go and I've only got 5/8" of drywall to hold it up. That probably isn't enough lol

Exterior shades are probably a no go from the HOA, but it never hurts to ask. Can you link to your product, please?
