We’re you able to save em? It was a very important procedure!! Especially if it was a blank tape that you recorded your favorite songs off the radio on!! Now that took dedicated, focus, patience, and a quick finger to push play!!

About 90%. The trick was to notice it was slowing down and hit stop..

The only problem with this alarm clock was that the bell was of a finite length of time. Maybe what, 10 seconds before the spring unwound itself.
There were MANY times where I just slept through it.

I needed one that would blast an airhorn for an hour..

The pencil was one thing. That was easy.

There were two other procedures one had to master:

    1. Opening the case, and replacing the pad on the backside of the read / write head. (The center opening in the bottom of the cassette). The glue often dried out, and the pad fell off, leaving only the leaf spring behind it, essentially scratching / tearing the tape if you tried to play, or getting no volume at all since the tape would be too far from the head.

    2. Splicing a broken tape. I've had to splice in the middle. I've also had to splice at the end when an over-zealous tape deck went postal on the rewind and broke the leader off the spool...

Well, just thought of another one.... I've had to transplant tape from one case to another..

    It's Friday, so.....

Anybody remember the rumor that women were dying during the making of, uh, "films", starring John Holmes? Hint, it wasn't due to the size of his ego.

Guess whomever started that rumor forgot women can have babies.

That’s a Big Ben. I had a Baby Ben and I had the folding travel Ben.

I’ve been retired for five years and I’ve almost forgotten how an alarm clock works.

If you were smart you are used a BIC pen.

Remember when they shot the BIC pen out of a rifle and it’s still works?

Real ones are hard to find and old, working originals are pricy.

I took typing in High School to meet girls since they were the only ones who took typing. I struck out with everyone of them but I still type 40 words a minute today.
