I have no idea, but if going this route, it wont hurt to apply some heat to the center of the pulley section. That will release some of the tension. But, that may discolor the paint.

Yes you can. You need a press tool to fit the new one also

That is what I used. I used the og craftsman 5ton puller. It will come off. Just takes some elbow grease to do it. Cheaper pullers will break.

Use power tool at your own risk but this was my set up. I strapped the craftman 5 ton puller with the stealth URD sc pulley. The stock sc pulley didn’t need the strap.

This removal procedure is completed while s/c is cool. The tolerance is so tight.
Heat will cause expansion, making it tougher to remove.

May be phrasing, but I read it to mean the center section on the pulley wheel around the bore, not the center shaft, which you are correct would make it tighter.

Yup your good. I just removed and installed mine twice due to some inventory issues. First time I removed it with the same puller and a ratchet

second time I removed it with the same puller and was in ‘auto’ mode and zipped it off with the impact before realizing what I’d done. No problems either way

For removal you can, I did. Just be careful.

I also used impact driver for trimming the snout.

When installing the new sc pulley, elbow grease.

eeeek. I did not use an impact. I would also be very careful with impact trimming. I was not as lucky and broke the bolt not once but twice. That was a bitch to remove. It works easily with a regular socket but just takes a bit longer. A few extra minutes for peace of mind.

Nice, if it warrants you can prob go a bit farther but depends what pully size your going to go with later on. my 2.8 fits but not sure my 2.5 will fit with how far I cut. (around the same)

Oh I know. I saw your saga unfold after I had finished mine and felt like I just lucked out. Some guys on YouTube (I know, lots of garbage there) we’re doing it that way hence why I felt pretty good doing it. Lots of videos on YouTube, you could almost learn to be a surgeon!
