I could be interested but would have to look at available dates and see how much vacation time I have left. June 10 I'm blasting down to Woodstock, GA for a "celebration of life" then straight back home on the 12th to be at work Monday. I have a long weekend in September already booked for a FJR meet in Flatwoods, WV that'll eat up a couple of days and I'm still working out details to finish my IBA Lighthouse tour that I'm not even 1/3 complete yet. I also need to leave at least some time open to take other half to the beach for a couple of days at least.

All of this is subject to change if I either hit the lottery or one of you guys is willing to bankroll my travel expenses instead of trading bikes in constantly........

I find that funny, when I started riding HDs in the 70s I along with everybody else was dirt poor and had to drain gas hoses at the gas stations at night for most of our gas. It was the guys riding import bikes that had all the money. Now things have almost reversed

When I had my Duke I had good luck with KTMWorld.com, I think they focus more on OEM parts but also sell some aftermarket stuff as well. Both times I ordered from them I realized I forgot a gasket or some other stupid item and was able to email them and they were happy to combine my orders and refund shipping for the second order.

AOMC.MX is a site I want to try as well. They list the litany of KTM stuff in an easy to find way.

I also have been wondering about their site, especially when I search my Husky part numbers, they always come up.

Slavens Racing is another solid option for the Austrian brands. Dirt/moto for the most part, though.

That comes with the territory when your bike is orange or white, unfortunately.

Would be glad to have another XSR brother in here to combat all these ADV weirdos

I agree with your assessment though. Now that I've been on my 700 for a year, I find myself wishing I had the 900 lol. I just hate what they did with the new seat

Ah to each their own! I think the new XSR looks perfect! Get a usable seat and you’re all set.

I know it’s nitpicky and specific, but if Yamaha made a single or double in the 500 ish range I’d buy one of each whatever it was.

Either a larger XT500 super modern and decent budget, similar to XSR700/900 budget, or a smaller Tenere 500 / Tracer 500 combo, etc.

Not too small, not too big, Goldilocks style.

Every 250/300 is light and fun but just not quite enough. Every 700-900-1200 etc is great on the highway, but not the most fun commuting and off road (for me anyway).

Something in the 350lb area +/- midsize weight, midsize power, midsize fuel tank, etc.

500 used to be a popular area for bikes.

The CB500X isn’t an off road bike in my humble opinion.

a modern XT500/DR500/T5/whatever 10k or under and I’d stop buying so many bikes looking for the right tool for the job ha :D

What is that like a 37” seat height, racy engine, I’m guessing but being orange probably 12-15 grand, 690cc, expensive to maintain, etc.

Quite the opposite of a modern XT500, low revving, simple, easy to maintain, inexpensive, dream bike, for me anyway. I’m sure someone who loves to rip hard and fast would love the KTM.

35” I think, but not expensive to maintain at all. It’s not built as a race engine like the EXC lineup. Other than price it seems to fit the bill for a bike that’s light enough to off-road but with enough power and stability to handle the highway.
