Hey gang thanks for having me. Hate to sound like a dumb idiot but the bag that you can buy for the Softopper - is it supposed to not cover everything? like the aluminum cross bar that holds down the rear flap sticks out to the one side of the bag, in addition to the bag not fitting all the way down over the folded up canvas. Are there multiple sizes for these things and i got the wrong one? Am i doing this wrong? sigh. Thanks

Also - tried asking softopper CS they have no problem going 7-10 days to get back to you...

Mine fits well but just covers the canvas portion. I’m fairly certain they’re not supposed to cover the metal bars down the sides of the bed, but I didn’t actually read the instructions for the cover.

The rear bar always sticks out of those things. Remove it or strap around it. Won't hurt it either way.

THIS, on the other hand, concerns me. Where's your end-cap?

hmm...interesting. so the cap is actually there, it's just pushed into the bar (not on purpose - the quality isnt high on this component). but your end cap is different from mine: the ends of the bar are flat and sit into this plastic piece that fits the diamter of the bar. it looks like yours is an extra piece on the bar that is perpendicular to the end of the bar and is flat to slot into the end of the rail? the plastic piece on mine needed to be screwed into the rail after the rail was installed. I just got my softopper last fall so maybe this is a new thing for the pandemic? lol

Yeah, that's wild. I just looked up the spare parts site, and looks like they changed the design. I bought mine in 2016, had no idea that new ones are doing it differently.

You did not fold your side correctly. You need to put the sides on the top of the softopper then fold everything

Agreed. I was confused looking at your pic at first. Mine looks like this with the sides folded up before collapsing the top.
