Haha. That’s the wife’s. Traded a perfectly good 4Runner for it. Against my better judgements. Nice riding vehicle though. No problems…… yet….

Possibly looking to move to the upstate within the next six months or so. What are some good areas/towns you'd recommend? Greenville area preferably with view of the mountains if possible. Was looking at Easley and a few quieter areas in eastern Anderson County but I'm not familiar with the area as far as good/bad areas and crime rates etc. Cost of living for homes around the $260k mark. Columbia is getting increasingly expensive and it's not great to live in. Being closer to the mountains/lake/TN/NC would be better for my interests.

If I ever moved back to the upstate, I’d be in north Greenville/Travelers Rest. It was closer to the mountains/Asheville. I like being outside of the city but still decently close to things like grocery stores. I didn’t care for some of the areas further out between the meth heads and lack of high speed internet. When I worked in banking there, our agents had AKs pulled on them when our cars were being repo’d from the boonies. I feel like upstate is more expensive than Columbia. I still look at SC real estate fairly often.

Looking at Lexington county because I'm in Chapin area now. So looking at houses in this area as well as Lexington County (north of i20 away from methville) is very comparable. Houses that were 199 a year ago are now 299 and up. I know it's expensive up there as well but I look at real estate nearly daily and I can confidently say it's not much more than it is here if any at all. Northeast Columbia is a little cheaper than where I'm at but I have no interest in being on that side of the city. Also if I relocate to the upstate if I get this job I interviewed for last week I'll be making nearly 20k more than I am now which makes a little bit of a difference. Not much but good enough to move lol.

you aren’t going to find any decent homes less than $350-400k

we are looking for somewhere to move or build. We are looking at homes that are 3x what we paid for our house in 2016, but we also have 50% equity in our current home. It’s ridiculous.

Where would the potential new job be? The commute can make all the difference.

Well let me rephrase. I would love several acres but it's not an immediate necessity for a quick move.
Job would be anywhere around the county, no specific area.

Stay away from Anderson City/Homeland Park area and you should be good..

The housing market in Anderson is insane right now.. nothing is really staying for sale long at all. Townville is a nice area with easy access to the lake and a straight shot towards the mountains as well.

Yes. And humidity. The older I get, the more I understand snow birds.
