This looks like a great boon-dock location. Wondered if stock tires are totally OK on this
as I'll be going it alone and am not in the mood to do any tire changes.

Anybody been out there? Also known as Loy Butte Road?

I have not been up in that area in a few years (went to Sycamore Canyon). I was in a stock Nissan Titan at the time and most of the roads were graded forest service type roads. I think you will be fine.

You and 1000 other people will be there because it is the closest wild camping to Sedona. Prepare for SxS mayhem, people ignoring the fire bans, loud music/yelling/drunk idiots 24 hours a day, huge toy hauler trailers running generators all night etc.

Oh I never go out on holidays - that's for amateurs - I'll be going next week on a Wednesday or Thursday. Mostly just want to case
the place, but I only got stock tires - the road appears pretty ok... I should scout other areas for some quiet time with a good view
to the south for some milky way images.

Just got back from Sedona. Won't be going back until Thanos gets his way.

Unfortunately yes. Especially this time of year where its finally hot in the valley but still kinda cool in Sedona "shoulder season." Hopefully you get lucky but its rough these days.

Stock tires will be fine... but.......why would you want to go here? Sedona is a terrible place to visit for many of the reasons stated above. Fr 525 is the worst place I have boondocked in 10 years. Camp in the forest by Munds park or off of FR535 and if you must do a day trip to Sedona.

I agree with everything everyone has already said in this thread. I just drove by FR525 yesterday on the way to rappel a canyon and it was an absolute mess of a place.

Also, I've had a Prius on many of the roads in that area, your Tacoma with stock tires will be just fine.
