Remember John Cameron Swayze and the Timex commercials? The watch takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
The one with the outboard motor was funny, it flew off somewhere during filming. Not sure if it was live tv days, live commercial

Did all of this often, especially the transplant. My folks are very religious and I would often do that before I got the tape home so they wouldn't know what it was.

Tupperware never worked as a vomit receptacle. It’s a punch bowl. The bottom was shaped such that what went in just went up and out the other side and on to the floor / carpet / whatever you were trying to keep it off of.

You were better off with a tarp or 5 gallon bucket.

Herbal Essence: “a garden of earthly delights.”

That shampoo’s probably how I went bald. I’ll bet those earthly delights were mostly made in a laboratory.

I was certain to lose my hair. Both grandfathers and my father bald. My only natural chance to retain the mane was if mom was sleeping with the milk man...

So..... Who remembers the milk man?
I do. I remember the milk and cream cheese being delivered at the first house I remember living in. We moved from that house in late 1961. It was Borden milk, and for many many years after that was the only brand of milk I would drink. :p

Edit: And the milk came in heavy glass bottles. You returned the empties by leaving them out on your porch on delivery day.

Remember the milk man very well. We also had a Charles Chips man that came by selling tins of potato chips.

Most of the houses had milk shutes and coal shutes. If you forgot your house key, you could climb through the milk shute

Sounds like you grew up with basements. There are no basements in this area... unless you wanted it to fill with water...

I remember the milk man. We also had an apple man.
Remember when you didn't have to take your garbage cans out to the road. Garbage men would walk to the garage to get them and then return them. The cans weren't made of plastic.

Can't say that I remember the "sanitation engineers" coming up to the house or garage to get the trash cans. But yes, all of the cans were heavy galvanized steel.
Mailboxes were always up on the front porch, or a slot through the front door. You didn't have to walk to the street to get your mail.
