    Someone is already grilling.

    It smells delicious.

I should find them and become their friend.

    Those are 1st gen Tacoma/3rd gen 4r 5100s with a 2nd gen top hat

Probably did that to lower the 2nd gen

There's no stendo on the bottom of the shock body is how I know it's for 1st gens

He never asked if they're for a 1st Gen or not; he knows they're for a 1st Gen as his truck is a 1st Gen.

They just put the wrong top hat on, whether it was customer provided or bought from the shop we don't know.

I'm not interested in getting parts for it any longer man. There's just no way to get a new rear panel/glass, frame for the rear panel, locking arms, new side panel window door frames, and all new seals for a 2018 SnugTop for a reasonable price. Plus once I fix it there's still a chance it leaks.

Original owner took it back to the SnugTop dealer multiple times for quality control issues. Wish I knew that before buying it.

Figured I'd share this so it can be picked up by search...

FSM had called for using a sealant (Toyota PN 08833-00080) however it has been discontinued. While tracking it down I came across this handy Toyota Tech Tip (T-TT-0060-10) from 2010. May have changed again but still wanted to add to TW.

That drive line looks clean too. I've got 10k miles on my O'Reillys special order CV's so I'll probably be in the market for some CV's soon

I can confirm that is a box of second gen KYB strut mounts and they will not fit.

    Gutted transfer case!
Seals, bearings - all will be replaced. Did I have to completely tear it down? With the exception of the questionable bearing on the driven sprocket and output shaft seal, nope. Did it anyway, good learning experience.

None of em were wide enough. All the ones they had were for laying cable. Sunbelt wanted around $300 for theirs, I said nope to that.
