I've been through Iowa once when I was a teenager, had a hockey tournament in Des Moines of all places one year. I remember them taking their county fair very seriously

 

And I was grumpy about paying $4.199 today. Sounds awful

 

They do fairs and stuff right up here, the weather in summer evenings is perfect for it and there’s lots of open space for shenanigans

Hey Guys - When you are out Overlanding/orr-roading, what would be the one item that you are least likely to carry but find you need in an emergency?

Sometimes I think a small butane/propane torch can really come in handy if you need to heat something like a knuckle end to break loose a tie rod or maybe to start a fire.

 

Probably a sat phone for emergencies, esp if going remote solo or in a small group. Keep telling myself to get one but never have
