Here is a video of a guy measuring performance directly:

I don't know why you would doubt some could work. works like a normal turbo except compression comes from electrical power instead of exhaust

Sure the concept could work but not a $500 eBay special. If it were that easy you’d see cheap electric blowers on everything.

I assumed you meant the usual gimmick crap and you reinforced that assumption with your eBay link. Yes you can use electrically driven compressors to provide higher than ambient pressure to an engine just like a mechanical supercharger or
exhaust driven turbocharger. No you can’t do that cheaply in any meaningful way.

That's a normal exhaust driven turbocharger...

I've actually used a couple 0f ebay turbos for fun cheap throwaway VW builds about 15 years ago. They are fun, make power and inevitably blow up when the bearings sieze.

Great infos. Mauna Kea mountain on the Big island reaches 13,380 ft. I have not taken my 2019 Tacoma up there yet. Yes, lots of people will get altitude sickness, key is to start going to lower elevations.

I learn here lower octane gas is recommended 85, but at lower elevations, engine lights may go on.
Also for every 1,000 ft higher, you lose approx 3% hp. Also your tire pressure decreases. And drive in lower gears.
They recommend air/ fuel mixture adjustments, not a easy thing to do.
Some car manufacturers do sell vehicles for high altitudes, my 2002 Exterra was built for Mauna Kea.

Many years ago I took my carburetor truck up Mauna Kea, had to removed the air filter, open gas cap, but my engine die anyways, I was lucky I was able to coast down hill with No engine on. At lower elevation it started back up.

Can confirm, the magnuson SC is A LOT of fun, especially in the snowy mountain passes.

In my experience it takes the truck from being a total dog to being slightly adequate.

Read on google say any air induction systems like Magnuson, or Turbocharged systems works great for high elevations.

I don't go to high altitudes often, but for me, magnuson took my Taco from a great and fun truck with adequate power to a great and fun truck with acceptable power and cool supercharger noises.
