Still need to connect that front downspout to the pipe with a flexible extension. Other than that its all done. Totally not expecting the grass seed to grow in the heat, hopefully the straw has enough weeds/crabgrass seeds mixed in to at least turn it green.

Good idea. I recently bought a Garmin InReach Mini for that purpose.

That's a good idea, I usually have a lighter tucked away in the door handle for making a fire. Usually just gets used for the annual cig though

I've got lighters scattered all over my truck haha. Comes in handy when you need them. I always laugh when people bust out some fancy fire starting kit or flint device or something, like wtf are you making it overly complicated for...a Bic lighter is .99c

There's value in the knowledge, for sure... Like being able to fix your truck with a basic wrench and socket set is great.

That said I'd much rather see someone break out their cordless impact and swap their CV in 30 minutes instead of taking 2 hours when we're on the trail lol

Damn, old water heater exploded maybe? Seem to remember that happened out here once years ago and took out an entire house and damaged the ones next to it

On this note I normally carry pry bars but on the last big trip someone had one of these. One or two swings with the 2lb hammer and he CV pops right out. I ended up buying one even though I told myself I'm done wheeling the Tacoma hard :duh:

Just ordered a passenger airbag switch for the flatbed. Airbag light would come on intermittently and jiggling the key in the switch would fix it for a while. Eventually that stopped working. The SRS airbag code light sequence mentioned the passenger airbag circuit too.

$70 poorer. Not even going to bother getting it rekeyed. No children should ever ride in that truck.

I sometimes bring a butane soldering iron, it has a torch feature as well. Probably not as hot as a proper propane torch tho

If it makes you feel better there are tacomas that didn't even have passenger airbags

have you used it? I saw that one when I saw researching after Ryan's post. I should probably have one too

They're spendy to buy but the annual usage fee is only $35/year or something so definitely not bad. Although there may be fees associated with actually having to use it as well, not sure

Now that I think about it, I think my dad gave me his old Garmin inReach a few years ago...shit. Probably buried in my truck somewhere, never activated it but I'm gonna look into it
