It's all laser cut. The one "vertical" one was an after thought and I did that by drilling two holes and then "connecting them" with a cut off wheel. I broke all of the edges inside the slots with a Noga deburring tool. You can use regular through holes but we had stainless 8-32 nutserts from another job that I used.

Hard at work. I need to cut three wires to length and terminate them, then I can tape it up.

Nice, I’ll have to decide if I try that with a dremmel cut-off wheel or just use a hole grommet. We will see.

I have a 2012 regular cab, base model (not even fog lights). I installed navigation with steering wheel controls but it was half-assed.
I have some burnt wires (A/C control) and cut wires (nav. install) that I wanted to address along with adding stuff like navigation with steering wheel controls from a 2015 Tacoma, fog lights, power/heated mirrors, cruise control and 120V inverter (power outlet in the bed).

I went to the dealer and the harness for my truck wasn't available anymore so I had to get one from a late 2013. The only issue is that the ECM connectors are different and one connector present in the 2013 trucks, isn't in my truck.
I ordered terminals and wire and began research (hours looking at and comparing wiring diagrams). The harness I ordered also was from a base model truck because I have a 2.7L and the harness needed to be the same in that regards.

Well I'm just glad you know what you're doing!

    Good luck!

Seems like a horrible headache, had to pull the dash I imagine?

It’ll never come off. It’s where the paint is slightly discolored due to the chemicals in the adhesive as well as the rest of the paint has had some sun fading anything underneath the stripes is the original color. You’ll get that sometimes with the name plates that have been on vehicles for a long time you pull them off and it still says Tacoma on it because the paint has faded slightly.

I will once I get the new harness finished. I already had the dash out once to replace it for peeling paint.

Pulling interior pieces and doing electrical work is easy to me, been doing it for so long.

You should see the wiring on newer vehicles.
Vehicle manufacturers came out with the CAN bus and other data buses to cut down on wiring but with all the new safety features and accessories, the amount of wires increased.

that’s an interesting fact I didn’t know. Would someone from the states be pulled over in BC if they had uncovered off-road lights? I’ve had an idea to drive from Seattle to Anchorage and back but this might cause an issue. Additionally, what are the conditions for when can you use the off-road lights?

I am not sure how it works with out of province vehicles but you could just throw some painters tape on it and not worry.
I know in Alberta you cannot use off-road lamps on any street/road/highway. I assume the same in BC.

    https://www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/complete/statreg/26_58_01#division_d2e2471
    Off-road lamps
    4.25
Despite section 4.04 (2) (c), a vehicle equipped with off-road lamps when on a highway must have the off-road lamps concealed with opaque covers.
