For sure. I've heard that the "triple locked" 80's were the more sought out ones to be had. They're sexy for sure and I'd love to drive one. Heck, I even have FZJ-80 springs in the rear of my 4Runner!

Both of mine are triple locked. Fortunately for me I bought them before the prices shot up. I looked for 2 years for a reasonably priced rust free 3xlocked 80 before I bought my first one. I bought it from the original owner for $1400, it ran & drove but had a bad headgasket. My 2nd one is a rusty trail beater. I love the old solid axle yotas.

Just curious, and this may be a long shot, but does anyone know anybody selling 3rd gen 4Runner parts? Looking for a front skid plate. Ripped mine off years ago when wheeling and never bothered to find one since, although I could have easily done so before I moved up to NOVA (no pick-n-pull's around here)

Ughhh. I wish I had the spare money laying around. Sometimes when I’m bored I surf the web for Land Cruisers that are for sale in the DMV. It’s a very dangerous habit lol

I’ve found couple that I probably would have pulled the trigger on if I was still car shopping.

If you decide to buy new these stainless steel 1 piece skids are nice. The pic of the skid installed is on my Tacoma. Ethan at SRQ used my pic on his website.

It was about $300 with shipping. But this was a few years back. @22REthan here on TW makes them.

I'm not in a position to drop $300 on a skid, although I'm sure they're worth every penny. Those look really good! I just wanna have something up under there since I'm going to be installing a Fumoto drain valve. It was never an issue to not run a skid under there, but now I feel like I have good reason to.

There aren't any yards up here in NOVA that I've been able to discover. Are there any pick-and-pull type places in MD?

LKQ has pick-n-pull yards in Md. You can check their inventory online, they've had multiple 3rd gen 4runners recently. I live in WV now but when I was back in Baltimore I had a rollback and use to sell vehicles to the local pick-n-pull yards.

Hey everyone, hope you all have had a nice holiday weekend! Busy as usual doing fun stuff. Niece got baptized, wife had a birthday party, I worked on my suspension, and best of all my dad bought a beautiful 80 series land cruiser! They are going to fly to AZ and drive her back on their first excursion

Nice! Me being a 80 series owner I feel sorry for your dad's wallet. With gas prices nowadays driving a 80 across the country wont be cheap, but it's more about smiles per gallon than miles lol.

I put stickers for more horse power!
I had “fun” replacing few parts: axles, struts and front diff. Advice: do not do the diff replacement yourself, have someone to help. at some point on doing it, I almost cry :annoyed::facepalm:very frustrating. At the end I got it done! I have matching diffs rear and front now; 4.1

Haha no kidding! Although, he’s selling his beloved Audi RS6 which with the way he drives it gets worse mileage than the 80. Basically trading fast and expensive, for slow and expensive lol
