New cars are usually pretty contaminated. My truck had a really rough textured paint a week after buying.

Generic. My dealership said they do not do the glass replacement so I just went with who had the easiest schedule. The glass is fine. No TSS problems. They did a good job.

Damn. I’m pretty sure my truck went from San Antonio to Albuquerque, don’t know if that would’ve been truck or train. But then sat at the dealer for two weeks before I picked it up. I know it got washed, but I doubt it was clayed.

$700 right now on sale... But I have a feeling it is always "on sale".... It was on sale a month ago and they said the sale was ending the next day and... It is "on sale" right now still lol
Yeah, I dropped under the truck and went to hit the nuts/bolts and they are so rusted I can't remove them. Probably easier with an impact but I don't have one anymore and not gonna risk borking those so just taking it to a shop here in the next week.

Well finally got some free time this morning to drop the LCE Long tube header into my 16' AC SR5. Started at 11:00 was done and road testing by1:30. Only made three minor faux pas'. I ran the nut all the way down on the air box stud for the double nut install on the header so that took a minute to get back off and installed correctly. On the take out I didn't need to disconnect the upper air plenum to get the exhaust manifold out but had to disconnect it to get the header in (3 bolts 2 hoses no big deal). I also left the air tube on the air box side and it wold not let me fit the air box to the block. Unbolted the tube and it slid right in to the existing studs and the tube then bolted right on, just an assembly order thing.

On initial start it ran for about 5 seconds and stalled. Second key twist it ran up and down the RPMS 1000 - 2500 for about 10 seconds and settled back down, idle was a little rough. The battery was disconnected for the whole time so I kind of expected that. No exhaust leaks and no noticeable increase in motor /exhaust noise, very pleased about that. The back pocket dyno says it pulls longer and "fuller" on mild acceleration but the ECU is still relearning so I figure a tank of gas to get it settled down. I also noticed at 2K RPM in 6th (AT) that I'm running about 73MPH as opposed to my normal 70MPH and on the long slow grade where I normally lose 5-6 MPH while just maintaining throttle it only dropped 1-2 MPH. To maintain 50MPH I'm pretty sure I've dropped about 200 RPM to about 1500. The computer hasn't learned enough yet to talk about fuel mileage or overall performance increases but it's off to a good start. So far so good.

Got a bit extra ambitious and cut in my Track mat to go over my back seats tool boxes. I already bought the DeWalt tool boxes that fit under the seats and ordered the Track Mat to go with. Finally got around to pulling the back center console and laying in the truck mat. I will figure out something to fill in the center section. At 6'-2" the seat doesn't have to go all the way back so I matched the right and left hand seats and the mat comes in and out no fuss no muss. If I put the seats all the way back it kind of locks it in place. Need a duffel bag for my random loose stuff in the back.

    Cheers,

    Doc

Not sure if i posted or not. been out of town for a bit. Got the famous @Timbo's Customs 18° sliders installed a couple weeks ago. Went with the wrinkle matte powder coat. Came out great, very happy with it. Tim is one hell of a guy. Thank again.

Yep. The trucks built in Mexico all go to the distribution center in Houston before they are sent to the dealers.

The used gear oil was grayish/silver but no chunks of metal were present. :)

    Washed truck.
Trans oil change, 2.5 Qts, next time I'll drop the pan.
    Tcase oil change.
    Front diff oil change.
    Deleted sway bar.
Installed ecgs bushing. Old one looked okay.
    Greased uca ball joints.
Installed, then removed, 3/4" strut spacers, they gave me 40+" ground to fender, looked perfectly leveled, but didn't like the binding when front was jacked up and wheel hand turned, both drivers and passenger sides. Anyone know what that was about?

Drives much smoother, attributed that to ecgs since it no longer sounds like I'm rolling on the edge of my nitto's, and, to the sway bar removal. I like sway bars so the jury is still out on this mod.
