If you must, my soldering skills are garbage. Basically the terminal rotated 180 and snapped the wire from the inside. No pictures, because I butchered the unity in an attempt to solder it back together. :bananadead: Well alright...

    IMG_2137.jpg

Maybe I need a better iron and better quality solder. The Weller soldering iron and Amazon solder I've got just splatters everything.

At least my photography skills are better than my soldering skills. ;)

AGM installed today, but I need a new top strap. I like the off grid engineering one, but it's a 2-3 week wait. PM'd Coupe on here to see about something custom. I might just drive down to SDHQ in Gilbert this week and pickup one of their's.

Also played around with my amp location layout and took some measurements for a sub. I don't think the Focal RSB-250 will work without pulling the plastic bin, but both amps will go behind the rear seat. If I was doing 200.4 only I'd just tuck it up near the footwell/dash. Under the passenger seat was just too tight for both amps.

Moreover, this location will be easier running power down the driver's side from the battery and grounding to a rear seat bolt and then running speed wire back up the passenger side to head unit. It'll be a straight shot to the sub behind the seat too.

The grey carpet was $20 for a roll at Home Depot. I put it there after I bought the truck new to protect the factory carpet. It's called smoke unbound or something similar and is cut and tucked accordingly. I do it to all my vehicles. :rolleyes:IMG_2158.jpg

@MGMDesertTaco why dont you put the amps under the passenger seat? Are they too tall? There is a bar brace that sticks down from the seat but if you grind the cams off in the ends you can rotate the bar up toward the cushion springs and re tighten it back in place and have more depth clearance for the amps.

Because of that bar. Maybe with some seat jacker brackets, but I don't see 2 amps fitting. :notsure:

Edit: That and I don't like the idea of running the power cables under the middle of the floor to the passenger seat and I wouldn't be able to get a screwdriver in there to make adjustments if needed.

@MGMDesertTaco pull the seat out, unbolt both sides and cut off what looks like a cam lobe on the end. Put all the bolts back in, rotate the bar all the way up to the cushion springs then tighen it all back up. I fit a PDX-V9 under my seat.

I dig it! I might look into something like that, I have so many spare ipads and android tablets laying around due to kids and being a web programmer that needs them for QA.

it's seriously like a $0.50 Simpson StrongTie strap from Home Depot with two bends in it and a hole drilled... but for me, it's all about location

How'd you route your power cable to the battery? Down the drivers side and across the floor board to the passenger seat or across the front of the firewall and down the passenger side to the amp under the seat?

@MGMDesertTaco Down the middle actually. Brought the 1/0 in and across the firewall to the HVAC ducting. Down behind that, under the storage pocket at the front of the console to a 1/0 to 2-4ga fused distro block. From there down the parking brake cable and under the carpet just behind the shifter. It’s actually a mess, and I’m embarrassed by it. Told myself “I’ll clean it up later.”, never to be realized.
