Im having trouble pulling some of my video of last weekends trail ride. This was shot buy a guy in the Mark twain Mafia who was behind me the whole way so credit to him. Well I took the truck to a place here in Cameron and it seems the motor is done...3 cylinders rated 120 psi where cylinder 1 rated 30 psi. Not sure what to do at this point but I'm needing to make a decision to fully fix the truck or sell as a mechanic special. Was quoted to do an engine swap here in town at 3k for labor alone and would still need to source an engine.

 

You could trade it to @CygnusX191 for one of his trucks. Then he can fix it and buy the titan he was looking at.

 

Almost sounds like a head issue. I’d want someone to scope it and see if maybe there’s something weird with the valves or vvti related

 

So they pulled what they could and scoped out what they could with a camera inside. They mentioned the bore was fine with no scratches but that more than likely the valves could be stuck or something. They spent a few hours looking into options to see what was really wrong.

 

That sucks man.. I have a buddy that blew his engine on a 4 banger out of a 2010 if it’s only a head he might have one maybe? But a block not sure I’ll ask him for you

 

I talked to my buddy who knows the 4 bangers well he said they are known to pop a head gasket and cause symptoms like this so it’s possible that’s all it is so that would be cheaper then a full engine replacement

 

He suggested to pull the head and take it to a machine shop and go through it and put a new head gasket on the truck since the cylinder walls look fine he thinks it could just be a head gasket
