No framing (wood or metal). Wall anchors? Wood or self tapping screws?

Ok I think I’m gonna do that so that I lose the 1”-1.5” in the bedroom and not the already small toilet room.

Well again, I don't know what's on the other side of the drywall so I don't want to force my way into it.

You could attach a rod to the ceiling and use some lined curtains. Or if you have the money in your budget, you could look into motorized shades. Attach to ceiling anchor to rafters or trusses, pull power from nearby light source? Might be pricey. Just a thought.

Buried two downspouts yesterday and this morning. Had water problems in the crawlspace and the downspouts dumped right at the foundation so I figured relocating them was the answer.

Dug roughly 70' of trench 12-18" deep all by hand. Not fun, but I saved some dough from not renting a trencher.
    IMG_20220528_162924882.jpg

Also tied in my sump pump ejection line.
    IMG_20220528_162939727.jpg

    IMG_20220528_162941718.jpg

All covered up. Still need to tie in that front downspout with a flexible extension, but aside from that Im happy. Im not expecting the grass seed to grow at all in the heat, but hopefully the straw has enough weeds and crabgrass seeds mixed in to at least turn it green.

Thankfully the other two downspouts dump on the driveway so nothing to dig up over there.

Thanks! I built the trailer myself. First big welding project a couple years back. Used a pintle since it’s much easier to pick up with the hitch I welded to the box blade. Great for pulling around here and in the woods.

You’ve done a ton of work to the house so far. Nice job.

The trencher was probably worth it’s weight in gold, and you more than deserved it. Keep that one in mind if there’s a next time. Lol

    Thanks!

    The list just keeps growing...

Next up is to save for getting a concrete patio installed, and put up a shed out back.

Not sure what your woodworking abilities or desires are, but maybe someone can build a plantation shutter style cover for in there. Marc @ Wood Whisperer did one. Complicated but very nice result.

I damaged one of my vinyl siding corners last winter. When I bought the house there was another bad one that I replaced the right way, but it took an awfully long time.

I used this method for the one I just did.

It worked out great and feels really solid.

I bought a home last November. Deck was not taken care of very well. I'm trying to get it cleaned up and restained.

I've got a few carpenter bee families that have taken up residence in parts of the deck. Like bad enough where it's hard to enjoy being outside without 3-4 of them dive bombing you. I've got some poison and have been spraying them in the holes I find. Hopefully that takes care of the bees themselves. I'm a little concerned about the homes though.

Any ideas of what I can do to basically fill or patch them before I stain? Like maybe an expanding foam?

Just something to discourage future bees from thinking it makes a nice condominium.

Theres carpenter bee traps also. Diy or buy them. I'd fill holes with wood putty same or similar color as your house. Smoothe it out
