    Oh look, another mod....

    2022 Toyota Tacoma/Payload
    1,050 to 1,685 lbs

That means you can fit up to 5, 320lb fat people in the cab of your truck. The real question is, will they fit through the door opening?

P.S. Before you decide to do this, upgrade your suspension.

It's on your driver's door jamb.

Not every Tacoma weighs the same.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

Not as much as you would think...

The answer you seek is on the driver door jamb.

Get the smaller trailer, no matter what the wife wants.

That depends on if you're going hogging or competing in the one ton challenge.

For whatever reasons, those listed capacities are higher than what you’ll find on your door jamb sticker. I believe the figures you have are empty gas tank but not sure.
Check your door jamb sticker and deduct any amount listed on the yellow sticker for weight of anything added by the dealer.
These pages from my 2019 manual however do exactly match the load capacity door jamb sticker for my model truck:

Those specs in the PDF are from 2016. It is possible things could have changed or been revised over the years too.

No, the same misleading load capacity is listed in this 2019 “product information” document, lists my SR 4cyl Access cab 2WD at 1620 (same as in your 2016 doc), actual capacity on the door jamb sticker is 1500 lbs which matches the manual pages I posted above. Check your Owners manual and see if it agrees with your door jamb sticker.

Yea, I'm fat and I fit through the door opening just fine, thanks for asking.

No one looks at their owners manual anymore. Load capacity is there.
Door jamb sticker gentlemen. Load capacity for your exact truck is right there along with the yellow sticker deduction.

Thanks guys... not looking for "payload"..., looking on how much you can put on top of the double cab, before it folds up on you? Or would this be considered the same thing... "payload" ???

Well, it would be counted toward the total payload just like passengers, dogs and cargo.
How much weight on the roof before doing a bunch of body damage -- this should be interesting...
What do you want to put up there?

I’d look at the rooftop tent threads. “RTT.” That’ll give you an idea of rack and payloads and usages that haven't caused noticeably damage. Otherwise there are too many variables for such a broad question. And I don’t think I’ve seen it posted where Toyota has offered a max limit for the cab either.
