Removed the dealer license plate frames. Added tailgate pad for hauling bikes. Then drove it.

Apart from WeatherTechs, bed mat, seat covers and tint, I would recommend window deflectors. I personally prefer windows down over A/C and love being able to crack the windows in the rain and leave them cracked without rain getting in. While I doubt you get much rain where you are, it is still nice to be able to leave the windows cracked in hot weather too; helps keep it at least a little cooler when parked. Also, unless they really get close and look, would-be thieves can't tell they're cracked.

Note on window tint; definitely ceramic. Wife replaced the factory tint on her truck with ceramic and it makes a huge difference. I would recommend getting the sunstrip done too, down to the AS1 line on the windshield.

The VERY first thing I did to my truck though was get rid of all the chrome. Obviously does nothing for longevity or practicality, but it's cheap and makes the truck look so much better. IMHO of course.

Seat covers depend how fussy you are whether you want a trailer queen, or a truck you work out of. I went with some carhartt mossy oak camo covers that went on fairly easily, and can come off that way if needing washing.

Yup.. I did same thing.. I left the lot with new truck... later, it's time for first service at the dealership... I went there to drop it off...

I went out front to look at new vehicles.. I saw the salesman who sold a truck to me. He asked me some questions.. I told him it's all paid off. He had confused look on his face..

He was asking about getting another vehicle.. I told him no, my truck is in the service. I am here to look around. He was like "Oh"

As with all my new trucks, they go off road within the first 100 miles of their life. Great way to break them in. A stock Tacoma is super-capable on its own.

My first purchases were all weather mats, bed mat, and a tonneau cover. No regrets there.
I also did a ceramic coat which is easiest on a new vehicle.

I’ve had mine for just over a week. Icon stage 3, tires/wheels, cab mount chop, hypertext speedometer calibration module, diamondback tonneau, seat covers, KDMax Pro+xt, full ceramic tint with 70% on the whole front windshield (it’s Florida), meso sequential turns, bed rug, and other little stuff. I envy those who can just leave it along and drive it.

Pretty much just essential things for what you're going to use the truck for. This past Thursday, which was two days before taking the delivery of the Taco, I ordered the soft tri-fold bed cover. Yesterday (thanks to Memorial Day huge discount at the local dealer), I ordered bed mat, tailgate side step, some tie-downs with hooks for the bed rail system and a cargo net. Also ordered wind deflectors as well from WeatherTech along with a no-drill front license plate bracket from Aaron here on the forums, because NJ requires front plate. Thankfully I bought my truck in PA and they did not attach the front plate holder to the bumper. Other than that, I want to add a tailgate power lock mechanism and also some kind of a funny hitch cover light to make people laugh.
