Unfortunately, nothing will be better than OEM housings, but those are decent aftermarket ones. You may see a slight difference in beam pattern and cleanliness of the beam, the seals should be ok, and sometimes the clearcoat on the lenses start to fade and peel. These issues vary from aftermarket manufacturer to manufacturer. Personally.. I throw in the cheapest ones I can find that are "decent" and run them until they get destroyed.. then swap them out for another set. Just inevitable for me between scratching them up wheeling and the Az sun. I cant justify more than what I spend on them now for just beating them up. I upgraded my bulbs though to a 100w setup with 100w made in Germany halogens bulbs. Output is awesome and there's no glare or scatter or anything since they are Halogens still.

I've been on the wait-list for well over a year. And then they up the price of everything and still can't get it.

The area of my cabin is technically not covered so I'm not sure if I want to try. Plus RV is more expensive.

Not covered like with internet service? Or not covered like "not available" yet?

edit: if you have residential service and add portability it winds up the same price.

Well I just got a quote from SDHQ to re-gear. $4203!! They keep the truck for a full week and arent available to do the work until September 6th. yeahok.jpeg Waiting to hear what State 48 Overland says but thats just insane. The parts are $1400. I guess they are just gouging their customers "because they can." The last group buy that Premier West Gears (in Socal) was running was for $1850 parts and labor so hopefully I can get that deal still.

Well that group buy turned into a shit show. People got miss matched gears, lots had problems afterwards.

ECGS is $1845 with new bearings and no other add ons. Free shipping.
core is $2010 plus 100ish to ship your stuff back to them. So, still can be around $2000 done.
But you need to swap the pumpkins yourself.
So, is weekend worth $2k and waiting until Sept worth it?

Really, I havent heard of those issues. Is there a thread about it thats separate from the group buy thread? Ill have to look into the ECGS swap.

Reach out to Az Differential Specialists. They did my re-gear 5+ years ago with Nitro 4.56's (I ordered through them) and were the cheapest quote by far.. even beating Zuk. Saved me some coin where they could when parts were ok to re-use and or didnt need too. They took care of everything in 2 days. Good people.

EDIT: I paid 1725 out the door.

My original plan was to not do any of the work myself. Zuk requires you bring him the diffs. Between the Blazer and the Taco I dont have time for one of the trucks to be parked long enough to remove the diffs, bring them down to Phoenix, wait for the work to get done, go back to Flagstaff and reinstall. Actually as I typed that I realized I probably could make that work it just seems like a PITA even for someone that drives 5000 miles a month.

I like the idea of a shop doing it in one day and charging a reasonable price. That way if there is an issue I have some recourse. The next best option would be having completely assembled diffs show up at my house, swapping them at my leisure and sending my cores back. This option still runs the risk of an issue landing squarely on my lap though. I saw a while back on Zuk's website that he was taking time off but would be willing to consider locals-only work and then other mods took precedence and I forgot about contacting him.

All valid concerns. For me, it was worth it to yank them and make the drive. Going on 8 years now without issue.

He is back. Just did e-locker install on my 200 series rear diff and rebuilt locking diff going into my 93 pickup.
