just a couple of things tbh
I can’t say for sure it is but hopefully that’s all it is! That’s way cheaper then an engine so it’s something to look into

There are ways to check the head gasket by testing the antifreeze and oil as well

That may be another test. From what I was told though this guy was saying in order to pull the heads the engine would have to come out. Is that true? I can't imagine it being that way but I'm not sure.

That makes no sense. Only vehicle I know of where you need to pull the engine in order to pull the head is a subaru

One of the other things was when he had his camera in the motor he couldn't find anything that looked stuck or bad really. They spent some time looking for something to say was wrong. Mechanic was saying possible stuck valve but I wouldn't really know.

Sounds like it might just be a bad headgasket if they can't find anything wrong in the engine

It's what I was thinking once they said that they couldn't find anything that looked like the inside is damaged. Truck still runs. It just ticks and obviously can't make pressure in cylinder 1. I was having oil consumption issues as well but not very severe.

The oil consumption seems to be a common issue in the 2.7s also. Don't know if there's a fix for it. But if it does get worse you'll definitely have to look into either a new engine or get the current one rebuilt

Was never really bad. Just made sure it was always topped off. Maybe needed a quart after 3k or so.

Most exotics probably require a motor pull for almost anything if you think about it.

    Exactly.

Except for high end Mercedes trucks, pretty sure they're designed to stay in.

Old school Range Rovers and Land Rover Defenders too, since those aluminium V8s were GM designed

I may end up going to another guy for another opinion. There is someone in St. Joe that helped a friend with his Tacoma when his motor blew. I'd like to find someone that can give a good answer in whats needed to fix it but its gonna be pain in the butt if I gotta load it up on a trailer, take it somewhere, then all I get is "I think...".

It's too bad you're not on the east side of the state. We got a whole crew of guys that haul crap around for each other.

That's what I was thinking. I've had head gaskets done on other vehicles before and never had to have the motor removed. Getting ready to take this truck to another shop and see what they say. A buddy says the mechanic likes to work on Toyotas so I'm curious to see what he says.

Started the truck up today and noticing also white smoke come out every now and then when it's reving down.

If you're blowing smoke don't keep starting and running the truck. Unless you absolutely have to
