is upgrading the suspension before adding a winch and front bumper needed?

I’m on the stock SR suspension, but wanting to add a body armor 4x4 bumper and badlands 12k winch.

I don’t particularly want to upgrade the suspension just yet, but I will eventually be getting the eibach lift

You will sag in the front with all that weight on the stock springs at stock pre-load, but it will be drivable.

You could always do it in stages. Bumper first, suspension 2nd, winch 3rd. (Since bumper and winch are ~70 pounds each, the truck won't be as awkward during an in-between phase). :cookiemonster:

But also, an extra 150 pounds on the chin won't kill the stock suspension. Just don't go hard and slam it on the bump stops.

I woukd suggest adding weight, then get an idea of ride height and be ready to pull the trigger on suspension.

Honestly, I would wait on mounting the winch if you want to do bumper first. I think you’d have pretty bad nose-dive upon braking without new front suspension.

I’ll probably just upgrade the suspension first then.

IMO when you upgrade suspension which ever you go with make sure you set up for added weight. Like 650 coils etc. Just saw you have decided on Eibach kit. With that kit you’ll be good. Set up for 2.5” of lift with bumper added you be good will drop it back down and ride well with weight added. No weight will ride harsh at 2.5”.
